Happy Birthday Gorgeous Simple Stamping

Happy Birthday Gorgeous Cards

Hello and welcome back! Today I'm sharing three similar cards made using the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set. Stampin' Up has been featuring simple stamping cards this year, and this month's theme is birthday cards using only stamps, ink, cardstock and patterned paper. I made three versions of the card: one for a new crafter, one stepped up a bit for the casual crafter and one fancy one for the avid crafter.

The first card is stamped in Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral, Mango Melody, Soft Sea Foam and Shaded Spruce inks onto Whisper White Cardstock. I adhered a strip of the painted pattern paper from the Garden Impressions 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper to the left edge of the stamped piece, and adhered the whole thing to a Soft Sea Foam card base. And, that's it! It makes for a fun card with interesting placement of the greetings, and attaching the balloons to the greetings with the string stamp.

For my second, stepped up card for a casual crafter, I stamped the greetings and balloon strings in the same way as the first card. Next, I used the Balloon Bouquet Punch to punch out the stamped balloons, and adhered them with Stampin' Dimensionals. I also wrapped the whole piece with Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine twice, and tied a bow. The piece was then adhered to the Soft Sea Foam card base with more Stampin' Dimensionals.

For the third card for avid crafters, I stamped the greetings in Versamark Ink and heat embossed them in White onto Shaded Spruce, Mango Melody, Melon Mambo and Calypso Coral cardstocks. I trimmed them into strips, and adhered them to the Whisper White Cardstock rectangle with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. I stamped the balloon strings with Soft Sea Foam Ink, and then adhered more punched balloons with Stampin' Dimensionals. I used the white twine again, and then adhered some sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment using glue dots. This piece is adhered with more Stampin' Dimensionals to the Soft Sea Foam card base.

So, what kind of crafter are you? New, casual or an avid crafter? I'm usually an avid crafter, but I enjoy the challenge of getting creative with fewer supplies and tools. I'm really happy with these results.
