TGIFC136 - Color Scheme

Hello and welcome back! It's time for a color challenge this week at the TGIF Challenges blog. It's a color combo that lends itself to holiday projects, so I created a set of Christmas tags.

TGIFC136

Last week's challenge was about the ombre technique, so I decided to use that too. Did you see the projects last week? They were amazing, weren't they?

First, I cut a 2" x 6" piece of Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock, and ran it through the Polka Dot Basics Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. After, I cut the tag with the tag top shape from the Hometown Greetings Edgelits Dies. I cut a 2" x 4" pieces of Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper, and sponged them with Cherry Cobbler ink and a sponge brayer making them light to dark from top to bottom. I added a piece of the Real Red 1/8" (3.2 Mm) Solid Ribbon and the Gold Mini Sequin Trim to the center, and then covered it with Vellum Cardstock punched with the Starburst Punch and a star cut from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies and the Gold Glimmer Paper.

The greeting is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink from the Christmas Pines Photopolymer Stamp Set, and hand cut into a banner shape.

This tag started off the same way, but the 2" x 4" piece is watercolor, with a Cherry Cobbler ink wash for the ombre effect.

I used the same ribbons, punch and die shapes, and a different greeting from the Christmas Pines Photopolymer Stamp Set. The top of the tags has a piece of Very Vanilla Solid Baker's Twine tied for hanging from a package.

Well, that is all for me today. But, please be sure to stop by the TGIF Challenges blog and share your colorful creation with us this week!
