Fancy Friday - 3D Gifting Fun!

Hello and welcome back! It's time for the September Fancy Friday Blog Hop with my fancy friends (all current or former members of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team)! This month we're featuring 3D items, for gift giving and many other reasons. You're in for a creative treat, so be sure to circle all the way around the hop. We also have a Pinterest board that you can follow. You might have just arrived from Susan's blog, my friend from New Zealand. Wasn't her project so cute?!

I had the idea to make some ornaments using the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes in the diorama style. I used both the Hearts Come Home Bundle and the Night in Bethlehem Bundle.

For the first ornament, I die cut one row of houses from the Hearts Come Home Bundle out of Silver Glimmer Paper (for the back row), and another row of houses out of Silver Foil Paper (for the second row). These were both trimmed to 2" wide. For the front row, I stamped a house and a tree in Versamark Ink, and then heat embossed in Silver. I trimmed the houses out by hand before attaching them to the front row.

After securing the inside piece to the bottom of the box, I added some glue between the rows and poured some white glitter over the top for a snowy look. First I added some tape to the bottom of the box to keep the glitter from falling out the cracks! The greeting is stamped in Basic Gray Ink and cut out with the banner die from the Large Numbers Framelits Dies. I punched a hole in the top of the box, and added a length of the Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon tied into a knot at the bottom and threaded through to the top of the box.

So, I should probably show you the inside piece that all of the small pieces are adhered to. It's 2" by about 3 3/8". I scored it at .5", .75", 1", 1.5", 1.75", 2", 2.5" 2.75" and 3". Then, I folded it so that there are three peaks on top, taping the bottom edges together. I adhered the cut pieces to each row, and adhered it to the bottom of the clear box.

For the second ornament, I die cut one row of buildings from the Night in Bethlehem Bundle out of Silver Glimmer Paper (for the back row), and another row of buildings out of Silver Foil Paper (for the second row). I cut both of these pieces to 2" wide. For the front row, I stamped the Joseph and Mary stamp in Versamark Ink, and then heat embossed in Silver. I used the coordinating die to cut out the piece and adhered it to the front row.

Again, I added some glue between the rows and poured some white glitter over the top for a snowy look. The greeting is stamped in Basic Gray Ink (using a marker to selectively ink it) and cut out with the same banner die. I punched a hole in the top, and added the Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon tied into at the bottom and threaded through the top.

Well, that is all for me today. But, please move along to Erica, the queen of 3D projects. You won't regret it!
