Hello and welcome back! It's time for another TGIF Challenge, this time featuring the emboss resist technique! There are so many ways to use this technique. After you heat emboss, you can watercolor, sponge or spray your ink over the image, which will resist the ink!
I chose to watercolor over my heat embossed greetings. I stamped them in Versamark ink, and heat embossed them with clear powder onto Watercolor Paper. I wet the watercolor paper with plain water first, and then colored over it with each of the ink colors (Berry Burst, Soft Sky, Tangerine Tango and Lemon Lime Twist) using an Aqua Painter. After doing this, the greetings stay white!
I used the fabulous Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper underneath, here the Soft Sky chevron print. The card base is Berry Burst Cardstock. Isn't that shine beautiful?
This card was watercolored with Soft Sky ink, and then flowers and leaves stamped in Soft Sky and Lemon Lime Twist inks. Here I used the Lemon Lime Twist dots foil pattern, and the Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon, which coordinates well with Soft Sky.
This card was watercolored with Tangerine Tango ink, and then flowers stamped in Tangerine Tango inks. Here I used the Berry Burst dots foil pattern, and the Peekaboo Peach 5/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, which coordinates well with Tangerine Tango.
This card was watercolored with Lemon Lime Twist ink, and then stars stamped in Lemon Lime Twist ink. Here I used the Tangerine Tango striped foil pattern, and the Lemon Lime Twist 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon.
These cards were really simple to make, so it was easy to create all four in very little time. I hope you enjoyed these samples of the emboss resist technique, and that you'll join us this week at TGIF Challenges with your own project.
