OSAT Blog Hop - Very Vintage
July 13, 2017
Hello and welcome back! It's July...how did that happen? That means it's time for another One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop, and our theme this month is Very Vintage.
I have to say that vintage style is not my forte. I used to make more cards in this style, but most of the sets I used have retired! I did pull out a stamp set and dies that I hadn't used yet, so that's a bonus. I pulled out the Best Birds Stamp Set and the Birds & Blooms Thinlits Dies for my card and gift bag/tag today.
Let's start with the card. I cut a piece of Soft Sky Cardstock, used a palette knife to spread embossing paste into the corners and then stamped into the paste with the texture stamp and Sahara Sand ink. If you decide to stamp into embossing paste, just make sure that you thoroughly clean your stamp so no paste is left behind. Next I stamped the large bird, branches and flowers in Sahara Sand ink onto watercolor paper, and used Aqua Painters to color them all in. After they were colored, I used the framelits dies to cut out the shapes. I also die cut the small bird from watercolor paper, and colored him as I did the large bird. I layered the shapes onto the card with glue and some Stampin' Dimensionals.
Once this panel was done, I layered it onto a piece of white-washed wood paper and then onto a Sahara Sand card base. I wrapped Linen Thread around the card three times, and then tied a bow. I stamped the greeting onto the same wood paper, and hand trimmed it into a banner shape. It is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Her a closer view of the cute little die cut bird!
For this project, I pulled out a piece of Fresh Fig patterned paper from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack, and made the large gift bag with the Gift Bag Punch Board. It's tied closed with the Fresh Fig 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon. The tag is cut from Soft Sky Cardstock to 2.5" wide, and then the top edge is cut with the Lots Of Labels Framelits Dies. I used the embossing paste in the corner again, but this time didn't stamp into it. I added another watercolored branch and flowers, and a larger die cut bird that is watercolored, adhering the bird with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I wrapped some more Linen Thread, and cut the greeting into a tiny banner to apply over the thread. The tag was punched with a 1/4" circle punch, and strung with the ribbon.
Well, that is all for me today. But, you'll want to move on to Pam Staples as the next stop on the hop.
