TGIFC112 - Let's Hear It for the Boys Theme

Hello and welcome back! I'm back today with the latest TGIF Challenges project. This week we're celebrating big guys, little boys...we've got projects for them all! Make sure you head to the linked post so you can see every one.

I decided to make a custom watercolor plaid for the background, and break out the Watercolor Words Photopolymer Stamp Set as well. This is a bold, graphic set which works well for masculine projects. To make the plaid:
  1. I taped rows of washi tape at an angle one way onto Watercolor Paper, and watercolored Tranquil Tide stripes between them. Remove the washi tape.
  2. I taped rows of washi tape at an angle the opposite way, and watercolored Tranquil Tide stripes between them. Remove the washi tape.
  3. Water color narrow Night of Navy lines in the white spaces between all the other stripes, in both directions. I used the more narrow Aqua Painter for this.

I trimmed the plaid panel to 3" x 5.5". I stamped the greeting in Night of Navy ink onto Vellum Cardstock at 3" x 6", and wrapped it around the plaid panel. I matted that whole piece with Night of Navy Cardstock, and tied one length of Whisper White Baker's Twine around the top. This was adhered to a Pool Party card base.

For the final touch, I stamped the stars in Calypso Coral onto Vellum Cardstock, trimmed them by hand and adhered them with some glue.

Well, that is all for me today. But, please join us this week and share your creation for our masculine challenge!
