International Blog Hop - Baby Time

Hello and welcome back! Today we are being highlighted internationally by Kylie Bertucci and you are able to VOTE for my project. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop, so please vote for my project. You can do that here. For the month of June, the theme is baby. I decided to use an all occasion set to create a baby card. I had a picture of a pretty wreath and the double banner in my head, and a color combo that I had seen recently that inspired me.

Here is what I came up with! I used the largest oval die from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies, and traced around the outside lightly with a pencil on Whisper White Cardstock. I stamped the leaves in Bermuda Bay ink, and the fronds in Lemon Lime Twist ink around the edge of the oval. Next, I stamped the large flowers in Melon Mambo, the round flowers in Daffodil Delight and the berry trio in Powder Pink. (I did try it on a piece of scratch paper first, to make sure the greens fit around the oval and that I liked the colors of the flowers.) This stamped piece was mounted to a piece of Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock, and then to a Daffodil Delight card base.

Baby Color Combo

The greeting was made with the double banner stamped in Bermuda Bay, and the greetings stamped in Soft Suede. The "welcome" and all the flowers and leaves come from the Banners for You stamp set. The "new baby" comes from the Happy Celebrations stamp set. I cut the stamped banner out with the Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies, and attached it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I added two more things for texture and dimension. First, I added yellow enamel dots from the Brights Enamel Shapes to the center of three of the yellow flowers. Second, I added a bow made from the Lemon Lime Twist 1/4" Ombre Ribbon. I think this is my favorite ribbon from the new catalog, but it's a really tough choice this year!
