TGIFC108 - Sketch Challenge

Hello, and welcome back! I'm back today with the latest TGIF Challenges project. We have the wonderful sketch you see below to work with this week.

TGIFC108

I pulled out a retiring stamp set that I hadn't used yet, and some of the new In Colors for 2017-2019. Aren't those colors amazing? I love how rich and vibrant all of the new In Colors are.

Hooray Color Combo

The two new In Colors are Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst, who happily join up with Night of Navy and Soft Sky. I took this color scheme from the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Papers that will also be available in the new catalog starting June 1st! And, I'm just warning you right now...you'll be seeing a lot of Lemon Lime Twist around here in my future posts.

After cutting a large piece of watercolor paper, I started by using a large watercolor brush to apply lots of water. Then, I brushed Berry Burst ink along the top, Lemon Lime Twist in the lower right third and Soft Sky in the lower left third of the watercolor paper. After drying this with my heat gun, I splattered some Night of Navy ink over the background. I wrapped Night of Navy Solid Baker's Twine around this panel, and adhered it to a Soft Sky card base.

The greeting is a two step stamp from the Double Take Photopolymer Stamp Set that creates the shadow affect for the letters. I stamped the main image in Night of Navy ink, and then the letter shadows in Soft Sky ink. This was trimmed and adhered to a Lemon Lime Twist piece of cardstock with Stampin' Dimensionals. This was a really easy card to make, but I really love how it turned out.

I am planning on making a few other versions of this card, using the other stamps in this set. But, that is all for today. I hope you'll join us over at TGIF Challenges this week, and show us how you used this fun sketch.
