OSAT Blog Hop - Clean and Simple

Hello and welcome back! It's time for the May One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop, and our theme this month is "clean and simple". You might have just arrived from Jennifer Hill, and I know you enjoyed her amazing projects.

I decided to make a set of cards today, and used the lovely Chase Your Dreams Stamp Set. The images of the buildings in this set are beautifully illustrated, so I thought they would be perfect suited for our clean and simple theme.

For each card, I started with a sponged background panel. Here are the colors I chose to work with.

I used sponge brayers to make these, and the colors for this panel are Peekaboo Peach, So Saffron and Pool Party from top to bottom. I sponged the peach on the top third, the aqua on the bottom third, and the yellow in the center, overlapping between to blend the colors. If you'd like to see a video of this technique, let me know and I'll create one. I wanted the buildings to stand out, so I kept them simple by stamping in black ink onto Thick Whisper White Cardstock and die cutting them with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.

The greeting is white heat embossed onto Basic Black Cardstock, and layered it with a piece of coordinating patterned paper. Man, am I going to miss the Designer Series Paper Stacks! The greetings are adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals, with some of the Black Metallic Thread underneath.

For this color combo, I used Island Indigo, Pool Party and So Saffron from top to bottom.

Both of the greetings in these two cards are from the Chase Your Dreams Stamp Set.

For the last card, I used Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach and So Saffron inks from top to bottom.

This greeting is from the Greatest Greetings Clear-Mount Stamp Set. Both of these sets will retire at the end of May.
