Fancy Friday - 2017-2019 In-Color Challenge
May 25, 2017
Hello, and welcome back! It's time for another Fancy Friday Blog Hop with my fancy friends (all current or former members of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team). You'll love all of the wonderful ideas you see on this hop, so be sure to circle all the way around. We also have a Pinterest board that you can follow. You might have just arrived from Cathy's blog, and I'm sure you loved her fun project!
This month, we are highlighting different color combinations using the 2017-2019 In Colors. I chose to use Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst. I took this color combo from the upcoming Designer Series Paper called Naturally Eclectic (less two of the colors). Also, for each project I used four of the five colors instead of all five together.
These cards were all inspired by a card I made last week here. I used the same retiring stamp set for the greetings, called Double Take. I kept the focus on the greetings, and made a variety of watercolor backgrounds to highlight them with.
The greeting is stamped in Night of Navy, with the shadow stamped in Lemon Lime Twist onto Whisper White Cardstock, and backed with Peekaboo Peach Cardstock. This was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. I used some enamel dots to complete the card. I used the Peekaboo Peach dots from the 2016-2018 In Color Enamel Shapes. The Rose Red dots from the Regals Enamel Shapes is a good match for the Berry Burst ink, and the Pear Pizzazz dots from the Subtles Enamel Shapes is a good match for the Lemon Lime Twist ink.
For the second card, I made the watercolor wash with Berry Burst, Soft Sky and Peekaboo Peach inks. After it dried, I splattered some Night of Navy ink onto the watercolor piece. I wrapped more Night of Navy Solid Baker's Twine around the watercolor paper, and added it to a Soft Sky card base.
This greeting is made of three different stamps. I stamped the banner outline in Peekaboo Peach ink, the main "love" word in Berry Burst ink and the line accents in Night of Navy ink. I trimmed out the banner by hand, cut a 1" width of Berry Burst cardstock, and trimmed the same pointed end into it. These two were adhered together, and then to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. The "you" is stamped in Night of Navy onto Whisper White Cardstock, and tucked under the banner image. I used Rose Red, Soft Sky and Peekaboo Peach enamel hearts to complete the card.

Have you ever finished a card and thought to yourself, "It needs something else"? I thought that the enamel shapes looked so good on these three, that I went back to my original card and added stars in Rose Red, Soft Sky and Pear Pizzazz. It's just the little extra boost that it needed.
Well, that is all for me today. But, please be sure to click the button below to move on to Jennifer's awesome project, and to continue on the hop for even more creative ideas!
