TGIFC105 - 2nd Birthday Party!
April 28, 2017
Hello and welcome back! I'm back again with TGIF Challenges this week to help celebrate our 2nd birthday!
I haven't been on the team for very long, but even before I was I followed them each week and enjoyed all of the inspiring creations they made. I'm so happy to help celebrate their 2nd Anniversary this week. We went with a party theme...for obvious reasons!
The cake is designed to make a pop-up card, but I cut it apart and used it alone. I cut it from watercolor paper, and colored with my aqua painters. After that, I cut two more from Basic Black cardstock, and glued all three layers together.
Next, I stamped the confetti and candle images onto Shimmery White Cardstock. I added this to a Basic Black card base, added a layer of Vellum Cardstock over the top and then adhered the birthday image to the top. I used some of the Calypso Coral ombre ribbon and Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine attached with a staple to complete the card front.
For the inside, I stamped the second greeting, covered it with a post-it note, and stamped the confetti and candles again over the edge of the post-it note.
This was a simple way to decorate the inside, and give a place to write in the black card.
I grabbed one of the Glassine Gift Bags, and decided to make a coordinating gift tag. I stamped the cake onto watercolor paper with Calypso Coral ink, colored over it with my aqua painter, and then colored around the outer edge with watered down Bermuda Bay ink. I stamped the candle in a new color, Lemon Lime Twist, and cut it out by hand. The greeting is heat embossed in white onto more Basic Black Cardstock.
I used more of the Calypso ombre ribbon and Bermuda Baker's Twine, and clipped to the bag with a Gold Binder Clip.
Well, that's all for me today. But, I hope you'll join us over at the TGIF Challenges blog and share your own party creation with us! Thanks for all your participation over the past two years, and cheers to many more creative endeavors together.
