OSAT Blog Hop - Birthday Bash

Hello and welcome back! It's time for this month's One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop. This month's theme is birthday bash. Everyone can use more cards and other items to help celebrate birthdays, right?
I decided to ink up a set that I've had sitting around for a while called Sweet Cupcake. I picked a sweet spring color combination, and made a card and small gift box.
The cupcake stamp set has 3 layered stamps for the cupcake top, three for the cupcake base and two for the candle. Together they make great looking realistic images. I cut a little slit into the cupcake top to insert the candle in. The cute banner is part of the coordinating Cupcake Cutouts Framelits Dies as is the word "wish". Many of the word stamps in the stamp set coordinate with the die cut words in the die set. I cut the word from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. I also ran some glue over the darkest stamped parts of the cupcakes, to adhere the Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter. I also make a bow from Linen Thread to complete the cupcake.
To make my box, I used this tutorial video from Connie Stewart to make a simple box. I made mine 6" wide by 6" high x 1" deep. Connie shows using a shim to make the top slightly larger than the bottom, but I just pulled my lid a half a mark to the right before I scored each size. Next, I wrapped it with a 3 3/4" strip of the So Saffron patterned paper. I had to add a 5" strip to cover the bottom where the two ends didn't meet.
The tag is 3" wide, and I cut the tag holes in the top and bottom with a piece from the Baker's Box Thinlits Dies. This was attached to the box by wrapping Linen Thread 3 times around the box and tying in a bow. The rest of the embellishments on the tag are the same as the box. I'm so glad I added the glitter to the cupcake as I think it's the perfect finishing touch.
