Artisan Design Team - Flourishing Phrases and Framelits
August 17, 2016
Hello and welcome back! It's time for another Artisan Design Team blog hop. You're in for a treat because we have so much talent and so many different styles represented by these 20 women from around the globe. And on top of their talent, they are fun and fabulous as well. Please keep hopping through all 20 so you don't miss a thing! Be sure to use something like Google Translate for those blogs not in your native language. Also, you can find all of our projects for the year in one easy place, on our Pinterest board. You might have just arrived from Krista Frattin, and I know you loved her stunning project as much as I did.
I'm back today with two more cards using the Flourishing Dies. The whole team will be focused on these dies this week, and these are the projects that will be featured on the Stampin' Up Facebook page on Friday! These are beautiful dies, and the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set, which is part of a bundle with them, has so many beautiful sayings. For these projects, I thought it would be fun to die cut them from Watercolor Paper, and then use multiple colors to paint them with.
To finish the card, I stamped the greeting inside the banner from the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set, and punched it out with the Duet Banner Punch. I adhered it with some Sweet Sugarplum Ribbon underneath and Stampin' Dimensionals. I also added some silver sequins to the main image area to complete the card. I used the 2015-2017 In Color Envelope Paper and the Envelope Punch Board to make coordinating envelopes for these cards, as they are 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" in size. That's the great part about the paper and the board -- you can make easily make envelopes for odd sized cards!
For my second card, I layered the watercolored die cuts under the greeting, which is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. I used the Smoky Slate word paper over Smoky Slate Cardstock over the white card base. The greeting is die cut with the Layering Squares Framelits Dies.
I put a piece of Flirty Flamingo ribbon under the greeting as well. The small flowers are adhered right to the greeting, and a rhinestone is placed in the middle, and are the finishing touch. I used the other Delightful Dijon envelope paper pattern for my envelope to match this card. They are solid on the other side, so you can choose to have the fancy pattern on the inside or outside.
Here is the color combo I used. It's very different for me, but I really like it!
Well, that is all for today. But, make sure you move on to Michelle Long and the rest of the hop. You won't want to miss any of the fabulous projects along the way! Thanks for stopping by.
