Artisan Design Team Blog Hop - Embossing Meets Watercoloring
June 15, 2016
Hello and welcome back! It's time for another Artisan Design Team blog hop. You're in for a treat because we have so much talent and so many different styles represented by these 20 women from around the globe. Please keep hopping through all 20 so you don't miss a thing! Be sure to use something like Google Translate for those blogs not in your native language. Also, you can find all of our projects for the year in one easy place, on our Pinterest board. You might have just arrived from Krista Frattin, and I know you loved her beautiful project as much as I did.
For this card, I started with a piece of watercolor paper and embossed it with the larger flower folder from the Floral Affection Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then, I colored it with my aqua brushes Watermelon Wonder, Daffodil Delight and Cucumber Crush inks. I laid down the color in two layers, one with less ink and more water over each shape. Then, I filled in details with more ink than water. I loves the patterns in this paper pack, so the red floral on Crumb Cake pattern backs the watercolor piece.
The greetings are really nice and simple with a clean font. Here I stamped it onto a piece of die cut Daffodil Delight cardstock, and added some baker's twine to complete it. Both the watercolor layer and the greeting are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
On this card, I embossed the two flowers from the stamp set in our new Copper Embossing Powder and did the same with the flower centers onto a piece of watercolor paper. After that, I added Watermelon Wonder ink using Aqua Painters, giving it a gradient effect getting lighter towards the bottom of the piece. I started with a Thick Whisper White card base, and added a strip of one of the copper foil patterned papers. Then, I adhered the watercolor piece.
The greeting is copper embossed onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, adhere it with Stampin' Dimensionals added a separated thread from the Whisper White Baker's Twine. A couple of White Perfect Accents complete the card front. I'm loving the new copper items!
My last piece for the day is a small gift bag. I stamped the flowers in Crumb Cake ink onto a Kraft Tag A Bag Gift Bags. Then, I added a trio of banners. The first uses the same technique as the first card: dry embossing on watercolor paper and then watercoloring in. I added the same patterned paper in second banner, and the greeting stamped on Daffodil Delight for the third banner. I adhered all the banners together, slightly overlapping them as I sent. It's also important to make sure you have 3 different lengths for the banners so you can layer them but still see all of the patterns.
I stapled the gift bag shut, wrapped some baker's twine around the banner set and adhered the whole piece to the bag front. I'm loving this color combo too!
Well, that is all for me today. Be sure to move onto the next stop on the hop, which is Michelle Long, to view her fantastic project. You'll find the supplies listed below. Thanks for stopping by!
