Playing along with Global Design Project 034 Sketch Challenge
May 08, 2016
Hello and welcome back! I'm popping in today to share a card I made for the Global Design Team challenge #34, which is a sketch challenge by Teneale Williams. Have you seen her blog? She makes beautiful cards, both inside and out.
I decided to start with a watercolor background, but made it a little larger than the sketch. I covered one of my stamp blocks with Pool Party ink, spritzed it with water and then applied it to a piece of watercolor paper. I dried it with a heat tool to speed up this process. Next I added some Island Indigo ink, but not enough to cover the block. I spritzed it again with water, and applied it to the watercolor paper piece. I turned the paper to the side, and let the drips move around. I dried it with a heat tool again to speed up the process. I used a new brushstroke alphabet set that I couldn't resist (by Concord & 9th) to make the greeting, which is stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in silver. The watercolor piece was mounted onto a piece of Island Indigo Designer Series Paper, which just a bit of the stripe pattern showing.
To finish this card, I added some Bermuda Bay sequins from the trim, some silver star sequins from the Metallic Sequin Assortment and some clear Rhinestones. Can't believe I didn't add some ribbon or twine somewhere on this card, but I didn't think it needed it for once!
Well, that's all for this post. I do have some more cards to share later tonight and tomorrow using the amazing Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper. So, hope to see you later!
