OSAT Blog Hop - Tic Tac Toe
April 14, 2016
Hello and welcome back! I'm here today with this month One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop. Our theme this month is Tac Tac Toe, so I chose glitter pen, dies and sequins.
And, here are my projects for this week. I made a card holder box, and 4 cards and envelopes to go inside.
So, for this box, I used this tutorial again from fellow Artisan Design Team member Valerie Moody. This is becoming my go to box! I made mine from Sahara Sand Cardstock and decorated it with patterns from the English Garden Designer Series Paper pack. I also used some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine and the Bow Builder Punch to complete the box.
Here is my first card. I used the Rose Wonder Photopolymer Bundle (stamps and dies) for my set of cards. The rose outline is cut from Melon Mambo, and I colored that with the Clear Wink of Stella pen. I made the solid rose layer by tracing around the die onto Shimmery White Cardstock, and cutting just inside of the line. Then, I spritzed it with Melon Mambo ink.
I love the leaves die cut from Vellum Cardstock, and I also used my favorite Gold Metallic Thread and Metallic Sequins to complete the card. I also flicked some Old Olive ink onto the white greeting layer.
For this card, I die cut the larger rose and leaves from Shimmery White Cardstock, and also colored over it with the Clear Wink of Stella pen. Then, I held it over another piece of Shimmery White Cardstock, so I could see where to place the colors. For colors here, I used Melon Mambo and Hello Honey (which mixed to make the peach color), and for greens I used Mint Melody and Mossy Meadow. I applied water first, and then added the colors, so they blended nicely.
I used the label stamp and die for the greeting, and the greetings in this set are beautiful and cover many events. I also added sequins from the Blushing Bride Sequin Trim and the Bold Sequins to complete the card.
You can see the shine on the rose and the background better here.
My next card uses the dies in a different way. First, I colored pieces of Watercolor Paper with my inks and aqua painters, this time in Blushing Bride, Hello Honey, Mint Melody and Old Olive. Next I cut the shapes from the watercolored paper, which is thicker than our normal cardstock. So, the roses, small flowers and leaves all stay together. I carefully removed them from the die, and then applied washi tape to the backs to keep the pieces together. I layered them together, and only the rose is adhered with Stampin Dimensionals.
I added the greeting on a tag shape, and added some interest to the background by splattering it with Night of Navy ink. I used gold sequins, and also colored the center of the flowers with the Gold Wink of Stella pen. The Hello Honey ribbon is retired from last year.
Are you still with me? I have one more card to share. I stamped the small flower and leaves in Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow ink, and colored them in with my Aqua Painters and the inks, adding some Blushing Bride. I hand trimmed these out. I also colored the flowers with the Clear Wink of Stella.
To complete this card, I added white sequins and a greeting die cut with the label shape. I also added envelopes with coordinating envelope liners, and stamped inside each card with a coordinating greeting from the same stamp set. This really is a great set!
