Artisan Design Team Blog Hop - Birthday Blooms in Watercolor
February 17, 2016
Hello and welcome back to the next Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. It's time for another Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! You're in for a treat because we have so much talent and so many different styles represented by these 20 women from around the globe. Be sure to use something like Google Translate for those blogs not in your native language. You might have just arrived from the lovely Krista Frattin in Canada! Either way, I'm glad to have you here. We're highlighting our projects from this month's Artisan Facebook post on the Stampin' Up! page.
I used a technique called "No Line Watercolor" on this card. It's a lot of fun! I used the Birthday Blooms Stamp Set for the flowers and greeting on this card. I also created an envelope using the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and Envelope Punch Board. I love having a coordinating envelope all ready to go!
You can see the progression as I colored my stamped piece below. The important part of this technique is that you stamp in a light enough ink that it mostly disappears after you are done with your water coloring.
I used a small piece of the floral patterned paper under the greeting, which is stamped on Vellum Cardstock. I also used some of the fabulous Gold Metallic Thread and a Very Vintage Designer Button to highlight the greeting. There is also a piece of Vellum Cardstock under the water color piece that I stamped with the small flower and Blushing Bride ink. And, I pierced the edges of the water color piece as well. I love all the texture that this card ended up with.
The last embellishment I used was the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to color just the flowers. It's hard to photograph, but you can see a little bit of it below.
Well, that is all for today! You can click on the button below to move on to Michelle Long next. I'm sure she'll have something lovely to share with you! All supplies are listed below. Thanks for stopping by!
