Hello and welcome back! I'm here today with another Fancy Friday post. This month's theme is "No Red or Pink Valentine Challenge"! That's right...we might be a little crazy, taking on Valentine's without red or pink. But, everything you'll see is sure to be fancy and fantastic! You might have just arrived from the lovely Krista Frattin and her project. Here is my contribution for this month. I used a color scheme of Kraft, Gold, Calypso Coral, Soft Sky and Pool Party, with a little Very Vanilla and Basic Black thrown in.
My card bases are the Kraft Cardstock in a 4" x 4" size. In order to make the hearts, I started with a 3 1/2" tall by 3 3/4" wide piece of cardstock. I cut 1" strips for the bottom three layers and a 1 1/4" strip for the top, used the fringe scissors and then layered them on top of each other, overlapping by 1/4" each time. After that, I die cut through all of the layers using a heart die.
From top to bottom, this heart uses the Typepset Specialty Designer Series Paper, White Filter Paper spritzed with Calypso Coral ink, gold print from Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack (love that it has gold and silver prints in it now!) and watercolor paper painted with Pool Party ink. It is embellished with the Gold Sequin Trim.
This card uses Calypso Coral flower print from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack, Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper, Soft Sky polka-dot print from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack and the Gold Glimmer Paper. The Pool Party Glitter Ribbon completes this card.
This card uses the Soft Sky word print, Gold Foil Paper, Calypso Coral stripe print and another pattern from the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper. The Calypso Coral Thick Baker's Twine is the embellishment used here.
From this view, you can see the texture and the layers.
Well, I hope I have inspired you to try an unconventional color combination for your next Valentine's project. Please be sure to click the next button below to visit Allison Okamitsu and see her fancy project. Thanks for stopping by!
