Artisan Design Team Blog Hop - Sunburst Sneak Peek

Hello and welcome back! I'm here with the next Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. There are 20 of us from around the world, so you'll want to use Google Translate and follow all of the team. You might have just arrived after viewing Krista Frattin's lovely project(s). You can also follow the Artisan Design Team on Pinterest here.

Today I have two cards to share using sneak peek products from the upcoming Stampin' Up! Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs. Only a few more days until they are live on January 5th! I'm featuring the Sunburst Thinlits Die and the Sunburst Sayings Stamp Set from the Occasions catalog as well as the Hello Stamp Set from the Sale-a-Bration catalog. I'm just warning you right now that you're going to see a lot of sunny projects on my blog in the upcoming weeks. These are some of my favorite products, and I was so excited that the Sunburst items were included in our first Artisan box.

I started with our Thick Whisper White Cardstock for the card base. I spritzed a 1/4 size piece of Shimmery White Cardstock with Crushed Curry Ink mixed in alcohol, and then die cut with the Sunburst Thinlits Die. After adhering the rays to the card front, I stamped in every other opening with the Sunburst Sayings Stamp Set (the line of dots) and Crushed Curry Ink.

For the rest of the card, I punched a 2" banner shape with the Banner Triple Punch. I stamped the Hello in Versamark, and heat embossed it in clear. I stamped the Sunshine portion of the greeting in Calypso Coral ink underneath. Then, I adhered a small strip of the upcoming Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper, added a 1 1/2" banner of Vellum Cardstock underneath with Stampin' Dimensionals in between and added some rhinestones to complete the card.

For my second card, I used the Thick Whisper White Cardstock again, but in a horizontal orientation. These cards are both 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. I watercolored on the same sized piece of watercolor paper with Crushed Curry, Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral inks. The pink was added from the center about halfway out, and the coral was added mainly to the center. I again die cut that piece using the Sunburst Thinlits Die. After adhering it to the card, I used the Updated Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack to pierce a line of holes in the open spots between the rays.

To finish this card, I stamped the greeting from the Sunburst Sayings Stamp Set in Calypso Coral on Vellum Cardstock, and die cut it into a circle. With the next largest circle die, I cut three layers of White Filter Paper and used the Fringe Scissors around the outside edge. I adhered the vellum to the filter paper, ruffed up the edges and then adhered it to the card front. I used some Blushing Bride sequins from the Love Blossoms Embellishments Kit to complete the card.
