SU 2015 Convention Swap Card #4

Hello and welcome back! Today I have the last of my four Stampin' Up 2015 Convention cards to share with you. I made 40 of these, but used 3 different patterned paper combos for the focal point as I didn't have enough of any one to complete the batch. These use Calypso Coral for the color panel. For the thread I took apart the Calypso Coral Thick Baker's Twine, and also used a Pacific Point marker to color the Whisper White Baker's Twine. Lots of cutting and assembling involved, but I was able to complete them all fairly quickly. This Greetings Thinlits Die Set also comes with a "thanks" word, so you could make a whole batch of these cards to use or as a gift.

Here is the Pacific Point color combo.

Well, that is all for today! I'll have some fun things to share once I get back from convention. Thanks for stopping by.

SU 2015 Convention Swap Card #3

Hello and welcome back! Today I'm sharing a card I made for the Stampin' Up! 2015 Convention to trade with the ladies in my group that are also attending. It's just a simple friendship card, with some spritzing, die cutting and bling thrown in. It's called You're So Sweet, and it coordinates with the Mini Treat Bags Thinlits, which is where the star die came from. It was really a pretty quick card to put together.

SU 2015 Convention Swap Card #2

Hello and welcome back! Today I'm sharing another swap card I made for the Stampin' Up! 2015 Convention. This was also a full card swap using only new sets from the newest catalog. Thankfully this swap was only for 16 cards, so I didn't have as many to make. The set I used is called timeless love, and also has greetings for anniversaries and weddings. I decided to use the greeting that could also be for a friendship card. The main layer is gold embossed on vellum, and colored with markers from behind. The sequins are from the new Blushing Bride Sequin Trim.

SU 2015 Convention Swap Card #1

Hello, and welcome back! Today I'm sharing the first swap card I made to take to the Stampin' Up! 2015 Convention. This was part of a masculine swap for full cards, and I'll have 40 other cards to bring back with me. As usual, I made a card with a ton of steps, but I loved the end result so much that I powered through them all. I hope you enjoy it too!

Can You Case It #79 - Designer's Challenge

Hello, and welcome back! This week we are featuring a Convention Edition at Can You Case It. Many of us are on our way soon to the annual Stampin' Up Convention, so this week is a Designer's Choice theme and will be posted for two weeks. So, you have plenty of time to play along!

CYCI79

Since I've been on a watercolor, rainbow and black/white kick I just kept going with this project. To get this look, I smushed my ink pad on my clear block, sprayed it with water, dipped a piece of Window Sheet into the ink and pressed it to my paper. The colors I used were Watermelon Wonder, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party. I used the Shimmer White Cardstock, and backed it with Basic Black Cardstock. I adhered it to a Basic Gray card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.

CYCI79-Front

For the focal point, I used a strip of Basic Black striped patterned paper, a strip of Glimmer Paper, a die cut greeting from the Greetings Thinlits Dies in Basic Black Cardstock, some Silver Metallic Thread and some Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I'm really happy with how this turned out, and think it will be a great card to send to brighten someone's day!

Well, that is all for today. I hope you'll join us as Can You Case It and share something you've made with us! Thanks for stopping by.

Playing along with TGIFC Throwdown Challenge #2

Hello and welcome back! Today I'm playing along with the TGIF Challenge blog and their Throw Down #02 Challenge. I've been in production mode, and making multiples of two different cards for my Convention swaps. So, I needed a break, and to have fun with a challenge. This was just what I needed!

TGIFCTD02

Here is what I came up with. I added two small strips of the Typeset Designer Series Paper, and cut the lower edge into fringe. Next I stamped a birthday greeting from the Big News stamp set in Memento black ink.

TGIFCTD02_full

And last, but not least, I sponged some Whisper White Cardstock with Hello Honey ink, and Pool Party ink (one lighter and one with more ink). I adhered the darker Pool Party balloon with Stampin' Dimensionals, and tied a length of Whisper White Baker's Twine around the balloon. Also, the whole block is adhered to a Basic Black card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Can You Case It #78 - A Color Challenge

Hello, and welcome back! I've got another project to share for this week's color challenge at Can You Case It. Our colors this week are black and white, and one other color of your choice.

CYCI78

I can't stop using Watermelon Wonder! It's definitely my new favorite color, and is helping me miss Strawberry Slush a little less. And, Watermelon Wonder looks great with Basic Black and Whisper White! I used the Crazy about You Clear Mount Stamp Set and coordinating Hello You Thinlits Dies. I also used the Dotty Angles Photopolymer Stamp Set. In order to give it a bit of a gradient look, I used a sponge to remove some of the ink from the top edge of the stamp before stamping onto the cardstock. The hello die-cut is three layers glued together for more dimension.

CYCI78_Front

I added a piece of fringed patterned paper from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack. I love the patterns this year, and it even comes with Silver and Gold Metallic prints! I also added Whisper White Baker's Twin and red sequins from the Brights Sequin Assortment to finish off the card. The white layer is also adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Well, that is all for today. I hope you will join us at Can You Case It with your own black, white and color creation this week. Thanks for stopping by!

OSAT Blog Hop - Christmas in July

Hello, and welcome back! Today I am joining in a blog hop for the One Stamp At a Time group, with a theme of Christmas in July. Since it has been so unseasonably cool here in Chicago-land, it's not hard to get into the mood for creating cold-weather projects! I'm ready for some heat around here.

OSAT Blog Hop Logo

I have a Christmas card, and a set of tags to share with you. I used the White Christmas stamp set, and also the Festival of Trees set for the "To From" greeting on the back of the tags.

OSAT_Jul15_Card1

I stamped the images in Black Stazon ink, and then watercolored them with several of the In Colors and some additional neutrals. Love how the colors are subtle, and blend together. Watermelon Wonder is definitely my new favorite color!
OSAT_Jul15_Card1

I used both the silver sequins from the metallic pack and also from the silver sequin trim. And, the beautiful Watermelon Wonder paper has a clear embossed dot pattern to it. I think this is going to become my favorite new designer paper!
OSAT_Jul15_Card1

On to the tags. These were also stamped in Black Stazon ink on White Shimmer Cardstock and water colored. I selectively inked the longer greetings to add to the tags.

OSAT_Jul15_Tags1

I used some of the new Dotted Lace Trim and some retired 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon for the tops of the tags.
OSAT_Jul15_Tags1

I included some gift packaging for this set in the form of the Sketched Dots Tag A Bag Gift Bags.

Well, that is all for today! You'll want to check out the next stop on the hop by clicking the link below to get to Lori Mueller. Thanks for stopping by.

Can You Case It #77 - A Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome back! This week at Can You Case It, we have a sketch challenge for you to play along with. Check it out below.

CYCI77

I took the opportunity to stamp a fancy background, and then cut it into three pieces to match the sketch. The colors I used were Blushing Bride, Watermelon Wonder and Basic Gray.

CYCI77_1

I used the Flower Patch Photopolymer Stamp Set for all of the flowers in the background and on the tag, and the Silhouettes & Script Clear-Mount Stamp Set for the greeting. The tag and card base are both made from the new Thick Whisper White Cardstock...love that stuff! I used the Note Tag Punch as well.

CYCI77_2

Well, that is all for today. I hope you'll join us, and share a project using this sketch over at Can You Case It this week. Thanks for stopping by!
