Watercolor Valentine's Card

Hello and welcome back! I spent a crafty weekend at my friend's house last weekend. I created several cards for Valentine's Day that I'll be sharing here. Yesterday's friendship card was created then also. Here's the first of the Valentine's cards.

I started by watercoloring with Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral and Real Red inks onto Shimmer White cardstock to make my background and splattered some ink as well. Then I stamped the outline heart in Crisp Cantaloupe and the greeting in Real Red, which is from the Good Greetings Stamp Set. Next I stamped the other two hearts in Real Red and Calypso Coral, and trimmed them out. They are adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

 

To complete the card, I added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels Embellishments colored with the Calypso Coral Blendabilities markers and some red sequins.

Watercolor Birthday Card

Hello and welcome back. Have you seen the new Stampin' Up! Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs? If not, you can download a copy from the links on the right here, or head over to my online store to view all of the products that are available. There are so many great products, and my wish list is very long!

I used the Hello You Thinlits to cut out the word happy, and then temporarily adhered the negative pieces to a piece of watercolor paper. Then, I sponged Versamark ink into the opening, and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Now, it was ready to watercolor, and I used the Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral to color around the image. Then I stamped the rest of the greeting in Soft Suede ink, and splattered some of this ink over the top.

 

I used some of the Best Day Ever Designer Series Paper to cover the card front, and stapled a grouping of Calypso Coral Chevron Ribbon, Crushed Curry 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and Coastal Cabana Thick Baker's Twine in the upper left.

Published Projects for Valentine's

Hello and welcome back! I have a couple of projects to share today including two that were published in the February issue of Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking. The small treat bag even made the cover of the magazine! This was my first time of being a "cover girl", and since the magazine has ceased publication it will also be my last. I have had so much fun over the past few years submitting cards and other paper projects to this magazine, and having a few of them be published. Thanks for publising not only a fine magazine, but for creating a friendly and supportive community that we could all participate in. You will all be missed.

 

Here is the first project, which made the cover. I used the Cool Like That Giftable Templates to cut the basic box shape from Kraft Paper with my Silhouette. You can find the download here.

 

Here is the second project that made it into the magazine. I put the piece into a frame from Ikea. This took me no time to make and now I have a jump start on decorating for Valenitne's Day. I used the What's Your Type set to create this.

 

And one last project for today (not published), a gift box that you could fill with candy or a small gift. The box has white craft ink sponged on it first, then I sprayed it Strawberry Slush mist. The tag uses the Work of Art Stamp Set for the box.

Can You Case It #52 - Color Challenge

Hello and welcome back! I have a card today to share for the Can You Case It challenge blog, this time for a color challenge. All the designers are featuring Whisper White, Pool Party and Gold.

I decided to start by using something new from the Occasions Catalog 2015, the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies. I created my treat bag with Pool Party Designer Series Paper. I also used the Four Feathers Stamp Set and Dies to decorate the bag.

Inside is a small birthday card, sized 3.5"x5". I used some of the Gold Fancy Designer Vellum Foil along with the Countless Sayings 2 Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Endless Birthday Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set (for the dots which are white embossed). I also colored in the word Happy with the Light and Medium Coastal Cabana Blendabilities. Did you know that now, during Sale-a-bration you can get a set of Blendabilites free with each $50 purchase? It's a great deal.

 

Here's a view from above. I used some washi tape for the pull tab on the card.

Can You Case It #51 - Sketch Challenge

Hello there, and welcome back! I have another card to share from the Can You Case It Blog, this time based on a sketch challenge. It's a really versatile sketch, and you'll see what I mean after you check out the other designer's projects.

Here's my card. I used the Making Spirits Bright Stamp Set, which is only available for another few days. I stamped it in Baked Brown Sugar, and colored it in with Blendabilities markers in Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight.

 

For the background, I sponged Crushed Curry ink in the striped Dots & Stripes Decorative Masks, and then stamped Happy Birthday in the rows between. The patterned paper for the frame is from an upcoming paper pack called Best Year Ever, and is free during Sale-a-Bration! I also colored the gems with the Calypso Coral Blendabilities.

Happy New Year - One More Watercolor Winter Card

Hello, and welcome back! Happy New Year 2015. It's official now! I wanted to make and share just one more card from the Stampin' Up! Watercolor Winter Simply Created Kit. I sprayed the Silver Smooch Spritz through the stars mask to create the background. I used Cherry Cobbler and Memento Black Inkpad to color the other letters, and the happy is the negative piece left from the diecut.

 

A little bow of Gold Baker's Twine completes the card. I'm also entering this card in Virginia's View Clean Slate Challenge.
