Try It - Creped Filter Paper 2

Hello! Welcome back. I have another project to share today using the Creped Filter Paper. This technique is called Faux Silk. I think it was originally done with plain tissue paper, but it works really well with the Creped Filter Paper too.

For this technique, I stamped the solid flowers and stems from the Secret Garden set onto a Whisper White Cardstock panel with Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Gumball Green inks. Next, I covered the whole panel with the Stampin' Up! Glue Stick. Then, cut a piece of the Creped Filter Paper larger than the stamped panel, wad it up so there are lots of wrinkles, open it back up and apply it to the glue covered panel. Don't rub the paper too much or all the lovely wrinkles and texture will go away. But do make sure it sticks to the glue all over the panel.

The card base is Daffodil Delight Cardstock. I added a layer of the orange and yellow print from the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series paper, and a die cut piece of Calypso Coral Core'dinations Cardstock. I also tied some Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon around this, and adhered it to the card front. I stamped the greeting in Calypso Coral, punched it out with the Large Oval Punch and added some Calypso Candy Dots before adhering it with Stampin' Dimensionals.
