PPA155 - A New Spring Sketch Challenge
March 27, 2013
Welcome back! One of my favorite ways to start a card is with a sketch. I love the sketch from this week's Paper Pals Arts Challenge. Also, I wanted to play around with using watercolor paper in an embossing folder. The thick paper works really well with the embossing, and it's fun to watercolor afterwards. I colored in a few of the hexagons with reinkers and my aqua painter, stamped a few images from the Collage Curios Stamp Set, and then blended them a little bit more with the aqua painter. It turned out differently than I had pictured in my head, but I still like it. The colors used were So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo and Calypso Coral. I stamped the images in slightly darker shades, including the bee in More Mustard, butterfly in Tangerine Tango and rose in Regal Rose. I used Calypso Coral and Luckly Limeade Cardstock, and Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon.
This is the sketch that I used.
Here is a closeup of the card. The greeting is stamped in Island Indigo, and is part of the From My Heart Set. It is stamped on Vellum Cardstock.
That is all for now. Come back for some Easter projects soon. Thanks for stopping by!
