More Getting Ready for Easter

Welcome back! Today I have some cute little containers that can be used on card fronts or to hold small treats. I was thinking about the Boutique Boxes Designer Printed Kit, and I thought it would be fun to cut the boxes in half and use them as tiny Easter baskets. Then, I thought about the stamps that I just received in my Paper Pumpkin order, and I realized that the splatter stamp would work really well as a pattern for eggs! So, here is what I came up with. The card base is Primrose Petals Core'dinations Cardstock, covered with a layer of paper from Birds of a Feather Designer Series Paper.

I sure wish I had the Small Oval Punch, but since I didn't I traced it onto paper, then onto my stamped patterned and cut them all out by hand! Then, I adhered two eggs to a scrap of cardstock, and three eggs to another scrap. I added some packaging paper and then stuffed in the "eggs on a strip" next to each other so they overlapped a bit.

To make the handle, I used the border strip, folded in half and then cut off about 1/4" of the straight edge. The tag and baker's twine are from the Boutique Boxes Designer Printed Kit, and I just wrote the greeting with a Stampin' Write Basic Black Marker. The handles were attached to the boxes with brads from the 3/16" Brads - Neutrals Collection.

Here is the other basket and card I made.

The eggs are stamped as follows: Crumb Cake and Summer Starfruit on Whisper White Cardstock, Island Indigo on Crumb Cake Cardstock, Primrose Petals on Summer Starfruit Cardstock and Raspberry Ripple on Primrose Petals Cardstock. I used the same color scheme that was in the Birds of a Feather Designer Series Paper.

And, here is a picture of the baskets filled with speckled jelly beans. I have a few friends that I am spending Easter with, and they'll be receiving these treats!

Here are some close-ups of two of the baskets. I think this one with the half doily is my favorite.

Here are the others with the button decorations.

I think that's all for today. I have some cards to share over the next couple of days for blog challenges, so hope to see you here again. Thanks for stopping by!
