Welcome back! I have a couple of cards to share over the next few days in preparation for Easter.Today, I am going to share a couple of cards that I made using the same template as the one I made for our Artisan Design Team Facebook projects for March. Did you see those yet? If not go here to check them out. The card below uses strips of paper in rows on top of each other. This is a good design to use up scraps with. I used the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper which is a favorite for me! Get ready to see a lot of it around here now that Sale-A-Bration is over.
I also added a piece of yellow felt that I die cut with the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die. The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, punched with the Word Window Punch and finished with some Early Espresso Baker's Twine.
The strips I cut were 5/8" wide, and I placed them at every 1/2" interval. See the photo below for the detail. And yes, I covered up some stamping that I wasn't happy with! I lined them up along the left side, and then trimmed off the right edge after all the pieces were adhered. Then I attached the felt at the sides, and adhered and stitched the oval frame over the top of the whole piece. The card front also has a layer of the newsprint pattern attached to it.
Next, I used the Secret Garden Stamp Set to add some flowers to decorate my "egg". I used Pretty in Pink, Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade inks to stamp with.
I added another piece of felt, in pink this time, also cut with the Tasteful Trim die. The oval frame piece is cut with the middle size of the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies. The greeting is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
That's it for today. Tomorrow I have two more cards and some Easter treat containers to share with you! Thanks for stopping by.
