Artisan Wednesday Wow - Mar3
March 19, 2013
Welcome back to my blog! Well, Spring is officially here according to the calendar, but it is nowhere in site weather wise here in Illinois! So glad we have some flowers and fresh colors to work with this month and share with you. You might have just arrived from Jeanna’s blog. If not, go back and check out her terrific project!
I turned to Pinterest for some inspiration this time as well. I CASE'd the card layout from this card, but used a few less layers. It's a great layout to showcase different patterned papers and a flower. My card measures 5 1/4" x 5 1/4". The card has a Very Vanilla base, and then a square layer of Primrose Petals. There are 3 squares from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack. The fourth square is Summer Starfruit Cardstock. The birthday greeting is from the Make A Wish stamp set in the Spring Catalog, and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple and matted in the same color Cardstock. The Very Vanilla Baker's Twine tied on the greeting is from the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit.
Here is a close-up of the flower in the corner. I took the daisy image from the Secret Garden stamp set, rolled it in Summer Starfruit so just the edges were inked, and stamped and die cut 3 of them. Then, I crinkled them up and stacked them to make the layered flower. The vanilla trim is from the Artisan Embellishment Kit, and the button is from the Subtles Designer Buttons.
I drew my inspiration for the second card from here. I have seen an outline image embossed in white on Crumb Cake Cardstock colored with markers before, and I was excited to finally play around with this technique. This card has a Very Vanilla base as well, and is the standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". This is one of my favorite prints from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack. The top layer is Crumb Cake Cardstock at 3" x 4", and the Very Vanilla Cardstock layer is 3 1/4" x 4 1/4". Both the greeting from Make A Wish and the flowers from Secret Garden are stamped in Whisper White Craft Ink, and embossed in White Stampin' Emboss Powder.
Here is a close-up of the card front. I colored the flowers in with Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple and Calypso Coral Stampin' Write Markers. I also added some Rhinestone Basics Jewels to the flower centers to complete the card.
