2011 Stampin' Up Artisan Award - Non-Winning Entry #10

Last one! Number 10 of 10. This was my last scrapbook page that was a non-winning entry to the 2011 Stampin' Up Artisan Award contest. This one was the most simple, but sometimes simple is good. These pictures were taken on my parents deck last summer. Just before I sent this in I realized that the flowers I used were from a retired punch...oops! So, I changed them (but don't have a picture of the page afterwards). This is the extra page I made to keep for myself, and so I kept the flowers in place.

I'll have some more cards and scrapbook pages to share this coming week. I've been creating a lot of cards and pages lately, but haven't taken the time to upload them. But, now I am! So, in the meantime enjoy and thanks for visiting.

2011 Stampin' Up Artisan Award - Non-Winning Entry #8

I have three projects left to share from my non-winning entries to the Stampin' Up 2011 Artisan Award contest. I really like the pages I made this year. I'll start with the one that took me the longest time to complete! I used a stamp set called Simply Said to demonstrate all of the things that can be done with stamps including paper piecing, embossing, glitter, watercolor and even some non-conventional things like quilting, cross-stitch and embroidery! I forgot to take a picture of the actual page that I submitted after I made a couple of changes. The first picture is the one I submitted, plus the picture shown on the right in the 2nd page and a close-up of the different techniques in the third. I like to make duplicates of most of my projects to keep for myself, but I used different chipboard letters and heart element in the one I kept as I didn't have enough of those to duplicate. Enjoy!

2011 Stampin' Up Parade your Pet Monthly Contest Non-Winning Entry

I'm taking a short break from my SU AA non-winning entries to share this scrapbook page that I made for a Stampin' Up monthly contest themed for pet projects. I have these great pictures of my dog Monty begging for food from my Dad. He looks soooooo cute when he wants food! I don't know how he does it, but he turns on the extra cute charm. Since he was begging from someone besides me I was able to get his cute expressions on the camera. This was a little story about him that I had wanted to tell for awhile, so it was great to save the memory as well as enter the contest. Enjoy, and thanks for visiting!

2011 Stampin' Up Artisan Award - Non-Winning Entry #7

This is my other 3D project from my submissions to the 2011 Stampn' Up Artisan Award that I didn't win. I really enjoyed making these flowers though. I made a little upside down pocket on the back of each flower that slips over the dowel and holds the flower up! I purchased some plastic bottles, and filled them with white sand from the craft store to stand the flowers up in. The lighting was off in my basement where I photographed these, but hopefully you can still enjoy them. Thanks for stopping by!

2011 Stampin' Up Artisan Award - Non-Winning Entry #6

I have a few more projects to share from the 2011 Stampin' Up Artisan Award contest that were not winning entries. I'm really proud of my projects though. So, without further ado, here is the first of my 3D items...a banner made with the now retired Pennant Bigz XL Die from Stampn' Up. I used their Springtime Vintage fabric, felt and lots of SU embellishments. The saying is "encourage your hopes, not your fears". I used an alaphabet stamp on the half circle pennants for all but the "hopes" portion, which I highlighted on the larger triangular pennants. This was the only project that I didn't make an extra one of to keep for myself, but I plan to make one in slightly different colors to hang in my craft area. Anyway, enjoy!

2011 Stampin' Up Artisan Award - Non-Winning Entry #5

Here is the last card that I submitted for the 2011 SU Artisan Award, but did not win. After this, I'll share my scrapbook pages and 3D items as well as some other submissions to SU and Paper Crafts magazine that weren't picked up. But, I do have a few different projects that were picked up by Paper Crafts in upcoming magazines and special issues! I'll be able to share more about those later in the year. In the meantime, enjoy this project.
