KW Color Inspiration #47

032609-colors

Kristina has another color challenge! When I saw these colors, I thought of the new chick (& cracked egg) die design that I purchased for my Silhouette.  I also used the large scallop border die design for the Silhouette.  I really like the Tangerine Tango...I think it makes it pop!

For Web 033

Stamps: PTI Mixed Messages

Ink: Craft Chocolate Chip, So Saffron (sponged on the egg and the chick)

Paper: Tangerine Tango, So Saffron Textured, Solarcrest White, Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Button Latte button, white thread, So Saffron Polytwill ribbon, large corner rounder punch, Quickutz Chick Die, Quickutz Large Scallop Border Die

The second card was inspired by all of the robins that I saw hopping around eating worms that the rain had chased out of hiding.  They are going to have to go back into hiding as the cold is already back and the snow isn't far behind.  :-(  Anyway, here are my two cards celebrating spring...which will surely be here to stay soon!  This one uses Pumpkin Pie instead of Tangerine Tango, but I do like this color scheme also.

For Web 032

Stamps: A Little Birdie Told Me, Dots & Daisies Background
Ink: Craft Chocolate Chip, Classic So Saffron
Paper: Confetti Tan, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie DSP, Solarcrest White
Accessories: Quickutz Chick Die, Aged Copper Hodgepodge Hardware

Inspired By #3 and March 2009 PTI Blog Hop

It’s time for another installment of “Inspired By”.  I’m doing this in conjunction with Papertrey’s Blog Hop, which I am joining for the first time.  This tag was on something I purchased at Target awhile back…I can’t remember the specific item!  But, I really like the colors and the design with a subtle background, leaf accent and bold title.  I made another card using this scheme before, but I am more pleased with how my second attempt turned out.  I hope you like it too!

Also, I have some previous PTI creations with backgrounds that fit the Blog Hop here (2nd card) and here.

Cool...another source for color challenges!  Love it.  I decided to use Dawn's Damask Designs set from PaperTrey for this challenge.  Here's her challenge and my contribution.

Color Inspiration Challenge #46

It's time for another Kristina Werner Color Challenge.  I had to think about this combo some before I created the card.  With so many colors to include, I sometimes overdo it, and use too much color and not enough neutral.  I left some empty space on this card, and even though there is a lot of color I tried to use more subtle patterns and a little white.  I like how it turned out, and I think the colors pop.  I hope you like it to!

Today is the first official day of spring.  Last night when I walked Monty I could see my breath!  I'm not sure spring is really here in my neck of the woods, but at least there isn't any more snow on the ground.  Patience, patience!

The title is a play on roses are red, violets are blue...but I don't have a card with violets on it.  I do have two other cards that colored with my new Copic markers though.  I hope you will enjoy them!  I like the blue one the best I think.

Roses are Red

Over the weekend I took a Copic marker and colored pencil class in Wisconsin along with Tiffany and her friends Katie, Jeanne and Sandy.  We learned how to shade with both the markers and the pencils.  You can follow the links above to see what Tiffany and Katie created.  And, here is one of the things I made with the Copic markers.  I need to practice some more to get the shading right, but I like how this turned out.  Also, I don't have too many markers right now, so I used the gray to shade and the colorless blender to create some highlights.  Enjoy!

KW Color Inspiration #45

Wow...there have been 45 color challenges?  Kristina has been a busy woman!  So, this is an all neutral color challenge with Basic Black, Basic Gray and Whisper White.  I chose to use Going Gray instead of the Basic Gray, so hopefully that won't disqualify me.  :-)

I decided that this would be a good opportunity to play with the Guide Lines set from Papertrey Ink.  Maybe it's my Math background, but I really like working with geometric sets like this.  The sentiment is from another set, Damask Designs.  I may have to try this color combo with that set this weekend!  Enjoy...

More butterflies and color challenge #44

I couldn't stop at one card!  I had to keep using the butterfly die, the SEI Chocolat paper and these colors.  I set up my sewing machine also.  It's a new one from Target...nothing expensive, but it works much nicer than the old one I had from a garage sale.  It's hard to see in this picture, but I ran the velvet paper (the darker pink panel) through the Sizzix with a swirl texture plate.  I also ran the Butterfly through with the Cuttlebug embossing folder, and then added glitter to the raised swirls.
