Hello and welcome back! We're a group of current and former Artisans, and you're sure to find some inspiration here every month. Sometimes we feature colors, a sketch or like this week a theme of "anything but a card". You might have just arrived from Erica Cerwin.
I've had this project on my to-do list for a couple of years now. My parents celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2012, and I wanted to make an album that featured a photo of them from each year of their married life. I know...quite an ambitious project! Since I missed the original deadline of the anniversary itself, I had some more time to decide how to complete the project. My original intention was to make a digital album, but recently I decided that using the current (and soon to be retired!) Love Story Project Life by Stampin' Up! card collection and accessory pack was the perfect way to complete this project. Another issue that makes the project challenging is that all of the pictures from the earlier years are located at my parents house 500 miles away from me! So, having pockets that I can slip photos in as I collect them will also make the project more doable. I can complete all of the pages for pictures I have, and then take it to my parents house on my next visit with minimal supplies and finish the album! I call that a win-win.

Hello and welcome back! I'm here again for the next round of Fancy Friday! I'm so glad to be back here to share today. You might have just come from the lovely and talented Krista Frattin. I know she wowed you with her project and I hope to do the same!
This month, we challenged each other to use at least one color that we don't normally use. The first color that came to mind for me was Marina Mist. I have to say after making this card, I'm sorry I have been overlooking this color. It's great for the sky and the balloons here, don't you think?
Hello and welcome back! I'm here today with another Fancy Friday post. This month's theme is "No Red or Pink Valentine Challenge"! That's right...we might be a little crazy, taking on Valentine's without red or pink. But, everything you'll see is sure to be fancy and fantastic! You might have just arrived from the lovely Krista Frattin and her project. Here is my contribution for this month. I used a color scheme of Kraft, Gold, Calypso Coral, Soft Sky and Pool Party, with a little Very Vanilla and Basic Black thrown in.
Hello and welcome back! My fancy friends and I are back with some NEW fancy friends too! These are a group of past and current Artisans that have become fast friends thru the Artisan journey. Each month on the last Friday, we will bring you new challenges of all kinds (color, sketch, stamp focus, etc)! This month and next will be one week early due to the holidays. You might have just arrived from Krista Frattin's blog.
This month we are having fun with last minute fancy Christmas tags! I decided to use one of my favorite alphabets to get this party started, along with a modern color combo. I was inspired by this gift bag that I saw at Target.
I adapted the colors to Watermelon Wonder, Melon Mambo, Cucumber Crush, Tempting Turquoise and Night of Navy, and I left off the gold.
Here are some close-ups of the tags. I varied the height of the stamped letters to fit them onto the tags, and overlapped them to add some interest to the design. The tags are 2" wide and 4 1/4" long.
I used the Cucumber Crush 1" Dotted Lace Trim and the Watermelon Wonder 1" Dotted Lace Trim, trimmed the corners of the tag and punched a 1/8" hole for the ribbon.
Well, that is all for me today. Next stop on the hop is Allison Okamitsu with some more fanciness for you!

Hello and welcome back! Today I have something fun to share for multiple reasons. I was invited to join a blog hop with several creative ladies called Fancy Friday! All of these lovely ladies are amazingly creative, and I'm honored to be asked to join them. We'll be posting once a month, usually the last Friday of the month. But, because of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, we're posting a week early this month. Also, we have a Pinterest page with all the projects from the past and present. Just click on the Fancy Friday logo below to get to the Pinterest board! Now, on to sharing my creations for this week along with the other fancy ladies! You might have just arrived from the fabulous Krista Frattin and her stop on the hop.
This month, our theme was fancy Christmas with a non-traditional color combination. I turned to Pinterest to get some inspiration for my color choices, and really like what I came up with. I used Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi and Bermuda Bay, definitely not a traditional holiday color combo! For my first card, I used the Festival Of Trees Photopolymer Stamp Set from the main catalog. I stamped on Shimmer White Cardstock a variety of trees. I created the white tinsel on the Bermuda Bay trees with Versamark Ink and White Embossing Powder.
I used White Baker's Twine, fringe scissors on the Cherry On Top Cotton Paper Assortment, and Brights Sequin Assortment to complete the card. Both the main tree piece and the greeting are adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals too.
Next, I made a really non-traditional card! This uses the same color combo as above, but I used the What's Your Type? Photopolymer Stamp Set. There are so many great shapes in this set, and lots of fun things that can be done with them (besides creating the trendy alphabet they were designed for).
I used the Brights Sequin Assortment again, and made a string of them for the orange tree. I also added some more White Baker's Twine to the top of the card. The greeting is stamped in Versamark, and heat embossed in white.
ETA: I decided to make a couple of Christmas tags also using the same color scheme and theme. I used the Layered Letters Alphabet Photopolymer Stamp to make the greetings, which were stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.
Well, that is all for today. To view even more fanciness, next you'll move on to the amazing Allison Okamitsu by clicking on the button below. Thanks for stopping by!
