Fancy Friday - Color Refresh

Fancy Friday - Lined Alphabet Bundle

Hello and welcome back! It's time for this month's Fancy Friday Blog Hop. I'm here with my fancy friends (all current or former members of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team). This challenge we are featuring new and returning bundles from the 2018-2019 Stampin' Up Catalog! We also have a Pinterest board that you can follow. You might have just arrived from Mindy's Blog. Did you see her fun project?! She has great style.

This month I chose to use the Lined Alphabet Bundle, which contains a great photopolymer alphabet stamp set and matching dies that do more than just cut out the letters. Here, I used the dies to cut these graduated layers of Shimmer White Cardstock, that I watercolored with some ink spritzed with water applied with a stamp block. Then, I stamped the letter in Stazon ink, and watercolored it in with more saturated ink and my Aqua Painter. I completed the greeting with the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set and coordinating Classic Label Punch. I finished this card with the Smoky Slate print from the Neutrals 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, some Basic Black twine and some silver sequins.

For the next card, I used all of the ink colors (Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Pineapple Punch, Granny Apple Green and Coastal Cabana) to add water spritzed ink from a stamp block to the background, one color at a time. Next, I stamped the letters, watercolored them in and used the dies to partially cut out the letters. I had to trim the last little bit from each left side, but it's just a small amount of fussy cutting for a great look. I completed the card with the same items as the first card, and they both have Basic Gray card bases. I like this one a bit better because of the dark border. If I was to remake the first card, I would probably trim 1/8" from the top and bottom so it also had the same dark border from the Basic Gray card base.
