Fancy Friday - Large Font Love

Hello and welcome back! It's time for the August Fancy Friday Blog Hop with my fancy friends (all current or former members of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team)! This month we're celebrating our love for large fonts, and all the great stamp sets that feature them. You're in for a creative treat, so be sure to circle all the way around the hop. We also have a Pinterest board that you can follow. You might have just arrived from Jennifer's blog, and I'm sure you loved her fun project!

I decided to play around with the Happy Celebrations Photopolymer Stamp Set and the coordinating Celebrations Duo Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. And, I wanted to play around with some color-blocking techniques.

I started with the embossing folder to create the debossed "happy" greeting. Then, I stamped one of the paint stamps repeatedly in Powder Pink, Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry, Pool Party and Peekaboo Peach. For the rest of the greeting, I stamped in Versamark, heat embossed in white and then stamped another paint stamp with Tranquil Tide. The embossed areas resist the ink, just like the debossed areas of the large word do.

To complete the card, I backed the greeting with a piece of Smoky Slate Cardstock. The card base is Thick Whisper White Cardstock. I used the new Marbled background stamp in Smoky Slate ink on Smoky Slate Cardstock, and trimmed this to fit the card base. I wrapped 3 lengths of Crushed Curry Solid Baker's Twine around the card, and then adhered the greeting with Stampin' Dimensionals. I also adhered just the clear dome portion of the White Perfect Accents in each of the three sizes for just a little extra dimension.

For the second card, I  stamped the large "happy" stamp in Versamark ink, and heat embossed in white on Powder Pink, Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry, Pool Party and Peekaboo Peach cardstocks. Then I trimmed each letter into a rectangle. I stamped the remainder of the greeting in Versamark ink, and heat embossed in white on Tranquil Tide cardstock. I trimmed that to fit the width of the "happy" letters. All these were adhered to a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.

This card base is Smoky Slate, and the Marbled stamp is stamped in Smoky Slate Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock. I wrapped more Crushed Curry twine around the card, adhered the greeting with Stampin' Dimensionals and added the same clear dome accents.
