Can You Case It #63 - Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome back! I have a card to share for this week's Can You Case It? sketch challenge. It's a really versatile sketch, and I adjusted the placement of my greeting to be part of the focal point.

CYCI63new

I decided to let this beautiful tulip patterned paper do most of the hard work for me. The card base is Daffodil Delight, so I also added piece of Vellum Cardstock under the patterned paper to soften  the top of the card. I added a piece of Pool Party (retired) Seam Binding Ribbon across the seam after scrunching it.

I stamped the greeting first. Then, I inked the tulips in Daffodil Delight first and colored the edges with a Tangelo Twist marker before stamping them above and below the greeting. I also layered the greeting to a starburst Tangelo Twist die cut. Below that I punched a few 2" circles of white filter paper, and piled them together offset. I adhered the stamped image to the filter paper circles, and then to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I added a Tangerine Tango Baker's Twine bow to complete the card.

Can You Case It #62 - Designers Choice

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the Can You Case It? blog, this time with a Designers Choice theme.

CYCI62new

Surprise, surprise...I decided to watercolor again! I can't get enough of it right now. For this background, I used a piece of Shimmer White cardstock. I applied ink to my largest stamp block, spritzed it with water and also used an aqua painter to add even more water. The colors I used are Coastal Cabana, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Crisp Cantaloupe and Strawberry Slush. After making the background, I stamped the Swallowtail stamp and the greeting with Early Espresso ink.

I decided to trim a little off two edges, and adhered it to a piece of Coaster Board for some dimension. To complete the card I added some sequins and rhinestones. I really love how this turned out!

Edited to add: I have a couple of photos of the process of creating the background to share.

Can You Case It #61 - Clean and Quick

Hello and welcome back! I have a clean and quick card to share today for the CYCI #61 challenge the St. Patrick's Day edition.

CYCI61

I thought it would be fun to make a friendship card with a "lucky" theme. For the clovers I used the hearts and the stem from the Sale-a-Bration stamp set Best Day Ever. The colors are Pistachio Pudding, Hello Honey, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White. If if was making this card again, I think I would also stamp the word lucky in Basic Black instead.

To add some dimension to the clover panel, I backed it with a piece of Vanilla Coaster Board. It makes a great layer for a large piece like this and gives it just the right amount of lift. The sequins are leftover from the All Shook Up Paper Pumpkin kit.

Paper Pumpkin Leftovers

Hello and welcome back! I have a card to share today that uses some more leftovers from the December 2014 Paper Pumpkin kit. I cut the negative part from the hello sticker at an angle, and layered it over a water colored Shimmer White Cardstock background. I used Strawberry Slush and Pistachio Pudding for the ink colors for the water colored background.

To finish this card off, I wrapped some Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine around the sentiment and added some 2013-2015 In Color Sequins. This layer was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals to a Pistachio Pudding card base.

Playing Along With Freshly Made Sketches #176

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share using the Celebrate Today Stamp Set. I used several In Colors on this card including Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Hello Honey to stamp the balloons and decorations in. I also overstamped two of the balloons with Whisper White Craft Ink and some of the balloon pattern stamps. I love this stamp set. It's so fun and cheerful! Can't wait to make some more cards with it.

I adhered the panel to a Strawberry Slush card base, and added some Strawberry Slush Baker's Twine to finish it off. It was tempting to add some sequins too, but I decided to leave this version as is.

CYCI 60 - Color Challenge

Hello, and welcome back! I'm here today with another card for the Can You Case It blog, this time a color challenge. I'm so ready for spring, but there is no sign of it yet here in the Chicagoland area. It's still snowy and cold, but the forecast is for warmer weather soon, at least warm enough to melt the snow. I'll take what I can get!

How about these pretty, soft colors to cheer us all up? These should put us all in the mood for spring.

CYCI-60 Color Challenge with Wild Wasabi, So Saffron and Soft Sky

I used a few of the items from the Sale-a-Bration Catalog and paper from the Occasions Catalog. I stamped the lemon stamp twice, masking the first lemon before stamping the second. Then, I colored with my Blendabilities markers. For the area around the lemons, I colored the whole background with the Soft Sky Light Blendabilities marker. Then, I colored the area right around the lemons with the Soft Sky Medium Blendabilities and went back in with the light marker again to blend. I also added some highlights to the lemon by coloring a spot with the Color Lifter Blendabilities Pen.

For the three strips of paper, I used the green leafy pattern from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper, and sponged over two of the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper with So Saffron and Soft Sky inks (the stripes and dots). I finished the card off with two So Saffron buttons.

Well, that's all for today. I hope you'll stop by the Can You Case It blog, and share a spring creation with us this week using our color combo! Thanks for stopping by.

CYCI 59 - Sketch Challenge

Hello there! Here I am with another challenge card for the Can You Case It challenge blog. This week is a sketch challenge, and you can see the graphic below.

CYCI59

I used some of my newer Stampin' Up! supplies from Sale-a-Bration including the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Simply Wonderful Stamp Set.

Happy-Leafy-Web2

For the resist paper panel, I sponged Soft Sky ink around the outside edge and then Wild Wasabi ink in the center blending it out not quite to the edges. The layer behind that is a pretty Soft Sky print from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper. This same print is also used to stamp the butterfly on and the greeting. I also used the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on a layer of Whisper White cardstock.
