Can You Case It #47 - Sketch Challenge

Hello, and welcome back! Today I'm sharing my card for the Can You Case It #47 Sketch Challenge. I love a good sketch! And, this one gave me the opportunity to break out a stamp set that I got at Convention back in July, but that I hadn't used yet. This "thanks" image is really pretty on its own, but I decided to step it up a little. I inked the main stamp with Cajun Craze ink, then sponged the edges of the stamp with Blackberry Bliss ink and finally stamped it. I also colored a few of the small leaves with a Versamarker, and then heat embossed them in gold. The greeting panel is edged with Versamark Ink, and then heat embossed in gold also. Some Blackberry Bliss Ribbon is scrunched and sewn under the greeting layer.

The leaf is die-cut from watercolor paper, colored with Cajun Craze, Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meado inks. I also dipped some of the edges in Versamark Ink, and heat embossed them in gold as well. A gold button and some gold baker's twine finishes off this card.

Bold Stripes 2

Hello there! Welcome back. Here's my last project for this week, another card with bold stripes, this time in gold, and a pretty flower and ribbon. I made the stripes with the Dots & Stripes Decorative Masks, a sponge dauber and Metallic Gold Encore Pad onto Shimmer White Cardstock. The greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes Clear Mount Stamp Set is stamped on a thin strip of Vellum Cardstock, and attached with a little glue at either end. The roses from Stippled Blossoms Clear Mount Stamp Set are stamped in Strawberry Slush and Real Red, and Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details was added to the center. I fussy cut the flowers, and the main image has two layers. The leaves are stamped with Pistachio Pudding and Wild Wasabi Classic ink and also fussy cut.

The ribbon is from my stash, and is navy blue with a gold sheen. I tied the ribbon into a knot first around the striped panel, and then layered in the flowers and leaves with Stampin' Dimensionals. In the shot below you can see the detail and dimension. The whole panel is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals to a card front. It's all very shimmery in person.

Well, that is all for today and this week. Come back on Sunday for the next Can You Case It design challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

Bold Stripes 1

Happy Thanksgiving! It's been cold, rainy and a little snowy in my neck of the woods, so it's time for a bold and happy floral card. Plus, I want to share this beauty "for you" my blog readers to say thank you for visiting me here, and leaving nice comments from time to time. Thank you so much! This one features some watercolor stripes colored free-hand with Night of Navy Classic Ink and my Aquapainter. The greeting and pretty frame are from the Hello There Clear-Mount Stamp Set.

The striped portion is popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals. Some gold embroidery floss and a single strand from the Strawberry Slush Thick Bakers twine are added behind the greeting. The final embellishments are Gold Sequin Trim and 2013-2015 In Color Sequin Assortment.

Flower Patch 3

Hello there! Glad to see you today. I have one more card with the Flower Patch Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Flower Pot Designer Series Paper. This one was inspired by Nordic motifs, and I wanted to make a repeating pattern. I had fun with this one, and want to try this technique again with this and other sets.

BirthdayWishes1

The greeting is stamped onto Vellum Cardstock using the Endless Birthday Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set. I love the mix of fonts on this handy little set. I stitched with my sewing machine around this design, and added some Rhinestones colored with the Daffodil Delight Dark Blendabilities marker. I also popped up the center flower for some added dimension.

Well, that is all for today. I have two fancy floral cards to share over the next two days, so I hope you'll join me again tomorrow!

Flower Patch 2

Hello and welcome back! I have another Flower Patch card to share today. This one was inspired by Nordic motifs, and even though I'm not sure I hit that mark I do like how it turned out. It's a different look, but sometimes it's good to go outside your comfort and see what you can create.

I used the Flower Patch Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Flower Pot Designer Series Paper again. The images are stamped in Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Blushing Bride, Garden Green, Lost Lagoon and Night of Navy. The greeting is stamped on vellum, which is one of my favorite ways to include a greeting without distracting from the focal image.

BloomingBirthday1

The floral panel is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals and a piece of Lost Lagoon ribbon finsihes it off. I did use a lot of embelishments, because the stamping is the star of the show here.

Well, that is all for today! Come back tomorrow for another card. Thanks for stopping by!

Flower Patch 1

Hello, and welcome back! Today I am sharing the first of a couple of cards I made using the Flower Patch Photopolymer Stamp Set and coordinating Flower Fair Framelits Die. These are both really versatile, so I played around and made some projects with a different look than others I had made before with these products. I hope you'll enjoy the variety!

I took my color palette from the pretty Flower Pot Designer Series Paper including Blushing Bride, Lost Lagoon, Crushed Curry, Garden Green, Night of Navy and Tangerine Tango. I stamped the main flower in Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry and Blushing Bride, and then fussy cut two of the flowers. Then by adhering them together with Stampin' Dimensionals, I gave my flower lots of dimension. I even used the coordinating die to make a window in the card front so the flower could peek out from inside the card.

BeYouTiful1

I added some small leaves from the same set in Garden Green, and added the greeting from the same set as well. I small piece of Blushing Bride Chevron Ribbon (cut in half and knotted) and a Candy Dot complete the card.

BeYouTiful2

Here's the inside of the card, and there is still plenty of room to write a note there.

Well, that is all for today. Next I have two more cards to share with this set, and then I'll have a couple of fancy floral cards to share. Thanks for stopping by!

Can You Case It #46 - Project Life

Hello, and welcome back! We are sharing Project Life or Scrapbooking pages over at Can You Cast It for our #46 Challenge. I decided for the month of November to focus on 30 days of Gratitude and each day to take a picture and write something about what I am grateful for. And, I wanted to use my Project Life by Stampin' Up! pages for the project.

CYCI46

For these pages, I used some of the Seasonal Snapshot Project Life Card Collection and Accessory Pack. For the bulk of the journaling cards, I used the Gratitude for Days stamp set and the Project Life 4" X 3" Grid Cards which have a grid on one side and are blank on the other. I really decided to keep these simple, with not a lot of embellishments besides the stamping so that I would be able to complete them during the month. I did use some ribbon on the title pages to highlight the dates. Another stamp set I used is the Project Life Day To Day Photopolymer Stamp Set, here featured on the title page and the first journaling card.

Here is the second page. I also used the date portion of the This And That Remember (Mmddyy) Rotary Stamp on each journalling card.

20141119_060401642_iOS

Here is the start of the 2nd week. I am using all Design 1 12" X 12" Project Life Photo Pocket Pages for these pages, and taking all horizontal pictures to fit in.

20141120_230209000_iOS

Here is the other half of the second week. I'm really enjoying doing this project, and staying focused on my blessings this month.

Well, that is all for today! I'll have some more projects to share this week, including some cards and diecut boxes. Soon, I'll start in on my Christmas projects. Thanks for stopping by.

Playing with Hexagons 2

Hello, and welcome back. 4 cards already from me this week. What's up with that?! I don't always have time to make this many projects to share, but it does happen from time to time. So, enjoy it while it lasts! Ha...

So, here is the card. I cut some hexagons using the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die from both patterned paper and watercolor paper. I also outlined with a black marker two rows using the Hexagon Hive Thinlilts Die, and used this to line up my papers and to stamp the greetings in.

Hexagon-Hello-1

Here I used patterned papers from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack. The greetings are from the Honeycomb Hello stamp set. Some Linen Thread completes the front.

Playing with Hexagons 1

Hello, and welcome back! I have lots of cards to share this week, and then a Project Life post on Sunday. So, I hope you'll join me all week to benefit from my recent creative burst of energy!

On to the card. The base is Very Vanilla, and I diecut watercolor paper using the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die. I stamped the dot pattern from the Honeycomb Hello set in some of the openings, added patterned paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack. I also colored some of the cutout watercolor paper hexagons with Blackberry Bliss ink.

Honeycomb-Birthday-1

The greeting is stamped, and punched out with the Hexagon punch. This layer is larger than the other hexagons, and makes the greeting stand out more. A ribbon and patterned paper banners complete the card.

Sending Good Thoughts

Hello, and welcome back! I have some miscellaneous cards to share this week. This one is an encouragement card. The stars of this card are the large sentiment and the patterned papers. The longest banner is a stamp from the Perfect Pennants set along with the greeting. The papers are from the versatile All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack. I love this stack because there are so many different types and colors of patterns!

Sending-Good-Thoughts-1

I used the Banners Framelits Dies and the Banner Punch. And, I used the Daffodil Delight 1/4" Cotton Ribbon which is really nice to tie. A few white buttons finish the project.

Sending-Good-Thoughts-2

Well, that's all for today. I'll have more cards to share later this week. Thanks for stopping by!
