Welcome back! Today I'm sharing my second Convention Swap card. I made this one to swap with the rest of the 2012 Artisan Design Team, and I also gave a few to some of the employees of Stampin' Up that I was able to work with this year. I left it blank inside so they can use it to give to someone else. And, I added a card that I made in My Digital Studio to the back with the supplies I used and a thank you note. I'll share it here as well.
On to the details. The card base is So Saffron Cardstock, and the top layer is Naturals White Cardstock. I punched out lots of little circles from cardstock using the small circle punch from the Punch Pack, and added some gold sequins from the craft store. I piled these at the bottom of the Naturals White layer, put just a little adhesive on each side, and attached the Vellum Cardstock piece over the top. I think this piece is about 1 1/2" by 4". Then, I stitched around all sides of the vellum and continued around the top of the white layer.
Next, I stamped the greeting from A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set in Versamark Ink onto more Naturals White Cardstock, and then embossed it in Gold Embossing Powder. Then, I punched it out with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch, and pierced the outer edge of the circle.
For the final touch, I used two of the feather punches from the Feathered Woodcuts Kit - Digital Download in My Digital Studio, pulled them into my Silhouette Designer Software and cut them with my Silhouette e-cutter! This was so much fun. Ever since we had the kit with the cute feathers in the Spring Catalog I have been wanting some more die-cut feathers that I could decorate. For the larger feather, I stamped it with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Stazon Jet Black ink. For the smaller feather, I dipped the tip in Versamark Ink, and then heat embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. Then, I sponged the rest of the feather with So Saffron Ink using a Sponge Dauber. I stacked the two feathers, adhered them together, and adhered them to the card with Stampin Dimensionals. Then I glued on a small bow made with White Baker's Twine. (I thought gluing it down would be easier than trying to wrap it around the small feather ends.) **I'm working on a video showing how to die cut thes feathers. Stay tuned.**
I used two different images that I had pinned to Pinterest as my inspiration for this card. First, these feathers dipped in gold. So pretty!
And next, this beautiful color combo including spots of gold glitter. Aren't these yummy colors?
And, here is the small card from My Digital Studio that I included with the swap cards, that also lists the supplies that I used. I also want to thank you, my blog readers, for joining me on this wonderful journey this year! I hope you've enjoyed my creations, and that you are able to join me in the coming year for additional creations and blog features. Thanks so much for stopping by today!
