Artisan Wednesday Wow May1

Artisan Blog Logos-Main

Welcome back! I'm so glad you could join the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team for our first Blog Hop of May! Today we are featuring our projects that were featured on the Stampin' Up! Facebook page last week. You might have just arrived from Jeanna’s blog. If not, make sure you go all around the hop and get to her beautiful scrapbook page!

I decided to make a set of cards featuring the Swallowtail stamp that were very "shimmery". I also used the greeting from the Oh, Hello stamp set and the splatter stamp from the Paper Pumpkin Welcome Kit. I cut the Shimmery White Cardstock apart to make two 4.25" x 11" cards. Tip #1: Stamp the butterfly across the middle of the card before scoring so the image shows on the back and is uninterrupted. Now you can score the card in half and use a craft knife to trim along the right edge of the butterfly.

Next, cut a piece of matching cardstock to 4.25" x 5.5". Stamp the splatter stamp with coordinating ink over the cardstock rectangle. Tip #2, take Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, and both spray the cardstock piece and drip the ink by unscrewing the lid and dropping it directly onto the cardstock (this technique I learned about from Sarah).

Next, stamp the greeting with White Stazon ink onto a piece of clear Window Sheet. Line up the right edge of the window sheet with the right edge of the cardstock, but adhere only the left edge of the greeting to the cardstock. Then, adhere the whole stamped cardstock piece to the rest of the card front under the butterfly.

MarisaGunn-Artisan-AprFB-3

The last step is to tie on a piece of matching ribbon, and enjoy your cards! Tip #3: use the Thanks So Much stamp from the Oh, Hello stamp set to make a set of thank you cards for yourself or a friend. Everyone needs thank you cards, right?

Welcome back! Today I have another birthday card to share with you. This one uses the Patio Party Designer Series Paper again. I'm going to miss that paper after the retirement! At least this stamp set is sticking around (Blue Ribbon Clear-Mount Stamp Set). The colors I used are Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals and Summer Starfruit. I also added the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Die on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, some Whisper White Baker's Twine and a Basic Rhinestones Jewel Accents.

Artisan Blog Logos-Main

Welcome back! I'm so glad you could join the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team for our next April Blog Hop! You might have just arrived from Jeanna’s blog. If not, go back and check out her amazing project!

For this project, I pulled out the Oh, Whale set to make a thank you card. I got the idea to make a little scene for him to swim around in, and to have it be layered. I used the Ovals Collections Framelits Dies to make the layers with.

Artisan-Design-Team-Apr4-1

The background is watercolor paper, embossed with the Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, and watercolored around the clouds with Bashful Blue ink and splattered it with Marina Mist ink.

Artisan-Design-Team-Apr4-3

I also used the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Paper for the top two layers. I rolled the Oh, Wave! Stampin' Around Jumbo Wheel with Bashful Blue ink onto Vellum Cardstock for the water. The whale is popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals so that it is even with the second layer.

Artisan Wednesday Wow - Apr3

Artisan Blog Logos-Main

Welcome back! I'm so glad you could join the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team for our next April Blog Hop! You might have just arrived from Jeanna’s blog. If not, go back and check out her adorable project!

I decided to keep it more simple today. I'm taking some time off of work, and have been down in my basement going through my huge craft stash, and scaling down. So, I needed something I could complete quickly, and figured that might come in handy for you as well! It's a set of tags that would be great to add to a shower gift or a thinking of you item.

Artisan-Design-Team-Apr3-1

I started with Daffofil Delight Cardstock, and used the adorable yellow chevron pattern from the Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper. I'd like 5 pieces of that paper please! I also used a strip of the cloud pattern paper. The umbrella is from the Rain or Shine Stamp Set as well as the greeting. This is the first project I have used the Marina Mist 3/8" Striped Organdy Ribbon on, and I really like it. You'll probably be seeing it again!

Artisan-Design-Team-Apr3-2

This tag uses the Baby Shower sentament and Melon Mambo Cardstock and pattern paper. The greetings are stamped in Basic Grey ink on Vellum Cardstock, and attached with the Silver Mini Brads. It also features two pieces of the the Old Olive 3/8" Striped Organdy Ribbon attached with a regular staple.

Artisan-Design-Team-Apr3-3

And, last but not least, a tag for a Bridal Shower. This one used Marina Mist Cardstock and the cloud patterned paper and Melon Mambo 3/8" Striped Organdy Ribbon. Also, to highlight the focal point image, I paper pierced around the Oval using the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack.

Artisan-Design-Team-Apr3-4

Here is a close-up so you can see the greeting a little better. They don't look so light in real life! I think this is my favorite tag of the three.

Designer Typeset - Happy Birthday

Welcome back! Today I have a birthday card to share. The base is Basic Gray, with another layer of Basic Gray for the banner. I curved the banner on the stamp block, and then stamped it the gray rectangle, stitching around the edge after. Then, I stamped it again on a few different papers from the This and That Epic Day Designer Series Paper, and trimmed the triangles out. I adhered them to the gray banner. Then, I stamped the alphabet onto Whisper White Cardstock, and punched each letter out with the flower from the Punch Pack. The punched letters are adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Birthday-Banner-1

Here is a close-up of the card. To finish it off I added Calypso Coral Baker's Twine bows, and colored outside the stitching with a white watercolor pencil. It has sort of a chalkboard look, which I like.

Well, that is all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Concept Art Color Challenge

Welcome back! Glad you could stop by today. The Stampin' Up! Concept Artists posted a Color Challenge using some of my favorite colors, so I decided to play along. You can check out the challenge and their amazing cards here. I made two small square cards to share, and here is what I came up with.

Color-Challenge-1

I started with a sketch from Unscripted Sketches, and the color challenge from the Artists.

(Basic Grey, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade)

SK174 US205

Both cards are on Whisper White Cardstock bases. This one uses the Tasteful Trim Bigz Die to cut the zig zag strips of cardstock with. Then, I used the new Designer Typeset Photopolymer Stamp Set to stamp the arrows in tone on tone (Pool Party Ink on Pool Party Cardstock), and the greetings with the alphabet in Basic Grey. I cute the arrows out, attached them to a Basic Gray rectangle with rounded corners and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Color-Challenge-4

Here is a close-up of the card.

Color-Challenge-5

And here is my second card! I started with the Borders Scoring Plate Simply Scored and the smallest zig zag pattern. I embossed 4 rows of the zig zag design about 1/2" apart. Next, I tied baker's twine in the three colors in between each two rows of embossed design.

Color-Challenge-2

The greeting is a combination of a few different sets. The larger banner was cut using the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and the Calypso Coral striped pattern from the Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack. I stamped the smaller banner from the Designer Typeset stamp set in Pool Party ink on Pool Party Cardstock, and then added the letters with Basic Grey Ink. The "&" is from the Ciao, Baby! set in Basic Grey on Lucky Limeade Cardstock, punched out with a 3/4" circle punch and layered on Calypso Coral Cardstock and the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch. The whole thing is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Color-Challenge-3

Well, that is all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Artisan Wednesday Wow - Apr2

Artisan Blog Logos-Main

Welcome back! I'm so glad you could join the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team for our next April Blog Hop! You might have just arrived from Jeanna’s blog. If not, go back and check out her terrific project!

I decided to make a couple of cards for this week using the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit. I love anything with flowers, and with the Calypso Coral and Pool Party colors you really can't go wrong with this kit! And there are lovely embossed, kraft labels...and fabric brads...loads of my favorite things all in one place! Makes a crafty girl happy. So, for the card base I used the floral print from the Natural Composition Specialty Designer Series Paper. I layered some of the patterns from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack to one side, along with half of a Tea Lace Paper Doily. The label is stamped with Primrose Petals ink and the stamp from the kit.

Just-For-You-1

To make the focal flower, I scrunched 3 of the Calypso Coral flowers, punched out two 7/8" Scallop Circles from Very Vanilla, which I also scrunched and then layered them together with the Very Vanilla fabric brad from the kit. I love how these turned out, so don't be surprised if you see them around here again. This flower is finished off with some pieces of Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon.

Just-For-You-2

I made another version of the same card, but reversed the design. The background of this card is the music print from the Natural Composition papers.

Just-For-You-3

To finish off my Pool Party flower, I used the Secret Garden Framelits Dies to cut Gumball Green cardstock, and then cut it into two pieces. The greeting is stamped in Midnight Muse.

Just-For-You-4

Well, that is all for today. You will find the supplies listed below. Please stop by in the next few days as I will have some additional projects to share. Also, you’ll want to join us again next Wednesday as we feature another hop with all new projects! And, don’t forget to click to get to Sarah’s Blog for the next stop on the hop. You won’t want to miss her lovely project. Thanks for stopping by!

Sent with Love Part 3

Welcome back! Today I have another card using the Sent with Love stamp set. I got my inspiration from the image below on Pinterest. I love the fact that it only used a couple of colors, and things were centered on the piece. (*Edited to fix the broken Pinterest image link.)

I decided to see if I could use all or at least most of the stamps on one card. Here are the resutls!

Special-Delivery-1

The middle is popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals. I used Real Red, Pool Party and Calypso Coral Classic Inks, and finished the piece with Pool Party Baker's Twine.

Special-Delivery-2

That's all for today. I hope you'll join me later this week for the next Artisan Design Team Blog Hop.

Sent With Love Part 2

Welcome back to my blog! Today I'd like to share another card I made with the Sent with Love Bundle, including the stamp set and matching Designer Series Paper.

The border was colored with Island Indigo and Calypso Coral markers. I made another envelope, and a tiny card to fit inside with another border stamped in Real Red at the top of that card. I also stitched together a little banner made with pieces punched with the Small Heart, the 7/8" Scallop Circle and the Ticket Duo punches. Then the greeting was stamped in Real Red.

Here is a close-up of the card, and the little envelope and card.

That's all for today. Stop by tomorrow for another Sent with Love sample.
