Artisan Design Team Projects for November 2012 Part 3

67722153b

Welcome to the third post of my November Artisan Design Team projects for Stampin' Up! Today I have two cards to share with you. The first one has a lot of sparkle and dimension in real life. I love the Silver Glimmer Paper. It almost looks like diamonds in real life! I diecut a small strip of this paper, and used it along the edge of my patterned paper. I stamped 3 red ornaments, folded each one in half, and then adhered them all back to back. For the green ornament, I stamped two, punched the center out of one and then used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up the center. I also used markers to get a multi-color greeting.

Here is a close-up of the ornament and greeting.

Here is a hybrid card that I made using MDS for some of  the elements, the peppermint jar specifically. I used the digital Sweets for the Sweet stamp set to make a layered section of peppermints in both Real Red and Primrose Petals that would fit inside the jar. I printed them out, and then die cut them with the jar shape from the Cannery Set Framelits Dies. I stamped the jar in white Stazon onto a Medium Window Sheet, and then die cut it with the jar shape. I also adhered the red Candlelight Christmas Designer Fabric to a Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet, and then die cut the jar lid.

I stamped and die cut the candy cane from Scentsational Christmas in White Stazon onto the Medium Window Sheet, and adhered it over a die cut Real Red candy cane shape. Then, I layered the candy cane, jar lid and jar together, and tied it with some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine. A stamped greeting folded into a banner shape, and a piece of white cardstock cut to look like a table cloth.

I love this monochromatic card, but then I love red! It is one of my favorite colors. You'll be able to tell that also after seeing my Facebook project for this month. Don't forget to check out the other Stampin' Up 2012 Artisan Design Team blogs for their projects for October. You can find the full list of their blogs in the sidebar to the right. Artisan Design Team Projects for November 2012 Part 2

67722153b

Welcome to the second post of my November Artisan Design Team projects for Stampin' Up! Today I am continuing on with my holiday projects. I made some simple ornaments using the Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set. The sample on the cover of the Holiday Mini catalog is a beautiful ornament, but I decided to see if I could make some more simple 3D ornaments with the set and matching Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies. I used the colors Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green and Early Espresso. I also used the three colors of Core'dinations Colorcore Card Stock.

I stamped and die cut two of each layer for each ornament. This ornament has Cherry Cobbler for the center layer, Early Espresso Core'dinations Colorcore Card Stock dry embossed with the Fancy Fans Textured Impressions folder and sanded, another Cherry Cobbler ornament with the top trimmed off and a Vintage Faceted Designer Button.

SU-Artisan-Nov12-Ornament1

For the center layer of this ornament, I colored the ornament using Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green Stampin' Write Markers then die cut, Gumball Green Core'dinations Colorcore Card Stock dry emossed with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, a Gumball Green ornament, and a Cherry Cobbler button.

SU-Artisan-Nov12-Ornament2

For the center layer of this ornament, I stamped it in Gumball Green and die cut it out, embossed the Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations Colorcore Card Stock with the Petals-A-Plenty Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Die and sanded, stamped the next ornament with Cherry Cobbler and added another Vintage Faceted Designer Button.

SU-Artisan-Nov12-Ornament3

For the last ornament, I stamped the center layer with Cherry Cobbler, embossed the Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations Colorcore Card Stock with the Petals-A-Plenty Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Die and sanded it, stamped the next ornament with Gumball Green and added a Gumball Green In Color Dahlia. Plus, each ornament was punched with a circle punch, and Early Espresso 1/8 Inch Taffeta Ribbon.

Artisan Design Team Projects for November 2012 Part 1

67722153b

Welcome to the first post of my November Artisan Design Team projects for Stampin' Up! Now that Thanksgiving has past, it's time to start (or continue!) preparing for Christmas. The holidays are just around the corner! I have been making tags, and love to make them in sets. If I make a batch using the same supplies, then I don't have too many decisions to make but I can still alter each one slightly for some variety. So, this set started with the Scentsational Season Clear-Mount Stamp set and matching dies from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I also used most of the patterns from the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper with some First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper thrown in for one of the tags. For each card I diecut a window from card stock, stitched it to a piece of designer series paper,  and saved the diecut portion for the back (see below).

SU-Artisan-Nov12-Tags1

The first set uses the tree image, stamped then die-cut. I embossed Early Espresso card stock with the square frame from Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Die, then trimmed out the rectangle in the middle with a sharp knife. I kept the pieces from the center of the frames for use later as you'll see below. I stamped greetings with the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and use the matching dies for them also. A few basic jewels and Stampin' Dimenionals were used to finish off this set.

SU-Artisan-Nov12-Tags2

The next batch of tags uses the candy cane image. I decided it would be fun to try it once with white embossing powder on Real Red card stock. The colors that match this patterned paper are Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade, Primrose Petals, Real Red, and Very Vanilla. Here I cut the Lucky Limeade cardstock with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies. I also finished the stacked candy canes with some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine.

SU-Artisan-Nov12-Tags3

This set uses the mug and steam images that were stamped and die cut. Also, I used the Newsprint Designer Series Paper so that I could save the beautiful flocked transparency for another project. These were diecut with the Scallop Rectangle Clearlits Die from Crumb Cake card stock and finished with a little pearl in the middle of the snowflake on the cup.

SU-Artisan-Nov12-Tags4

And, the last three tags were embossed on Real Red cardstock with the oval frame from the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Die, and the center was punched with the Extra-Large Oval Punch. I stamped the Gingerbread Man in Early Espresso and also embossed him once in White Embossing powder on Early Espresso card stock so it would look like he was iced! More pearls for the Gingerbread man's buttons.

SU-Artisan-Nov12-Tags5

So, since I saved the inside of all of the cardstock windows that I cut, I decided to adhere them to the back of the tags as the perfect location for the "To:, From:" information to be added.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! Those of us in the United States are celebrating today. I even gave my dog Monty a new fall themed bandana using Stampin' Up Orchard Harvest Fabric. Doesn't he look handsome?! I think that is the only crafting I will get done today. :-) I hope you have a blessed day, enjoy your family and friends and remember to count your blessings.

It's Trendy-Ombre

So, I have shared an ombre project or two this year. I really love this trend. I love rainbows or shades of colors, so this is right up my creative alley. I had fun combining all of the different shades of pink and rose for this card. I used the Daydream Medallions set and the coordinating Floral Frames Framelits Dies as well as the Itty Bitty Banners set and the matching Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. Love being able to stamp, and then diecut with the stamped image in view!

The colors of the flower from inside to outside are: Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Primrose Petals and Rose Red, stamping on each color with the darker color and the Rose Red for the center which was punched with a 3/4" circle punch. The banner was stamped in Gumball Green, and a coordinating banner was cut from the 2012-2014 In Color Paper Stack. I distressed the edges of the petals and bent them upward as well to add some dimension and then attached the flower medallion and the banners to a white square card. As a final touch, I drew a border with a Rose Red Stampin' Write Marker around the outside card edge.

I hope you have enjoyed this card! More cards to share tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by!

Graduation Cards

I have a few miscellaneous cards to share this week. These were submitted for Paper Crafts calls a few weeks back. Since these weren't picked up, I can share them with you now! (One wedding congrats card will have to wait until the issue comes out next spring.)

I needed some Graduation Congratulations cards for two of my cousins daughter's that graduated from high school and college this past May. This was the first time I had used the Blue Ribbon set from Stampin' Up, and I really like how these turned out. I also used my favorite patterned paper, Twitterpated. Some Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon and Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon, some stitching, some Stampin' Dimensionals and it was ready to go. I also used the 2 3/8" scalloped circle punch, the 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle punches as well.

Here is another version with different patterns from the same Twitterpated Designer Series Paper pack.

I'll have a few other miscellaneous cards to share each day this week! Thanks for stopping by.

Artisan Design Team Facebook Friday October 2012

Artisanbloghop2

Welcome back! So glad you could join us for the Artisan Design Team Facebook Friday Blog Hop for October 2012. Please check out our individual blogs for our projects from October that were posted on Facebook by Stampin' Up. You might have just arrived from Jeanna's blog. She featured a stunningly beautiful banner with leaves. Make sure you check it out!

I really loved the items we received from Stampin' Up! to create with this month. I love Autumn and colorful leaves in particular. So, I really enjoyed working with the Wonderfall set and the Autumn Accents Bigz Die. I decided to make items for a Thanksgiving place setting. The funny part is I kind of made myself hungry after I created the menu piece! Turkey, sweet potatoes and apple pie...yummy. Thanksgiving here in the US is only a few weeks away now, so I won't have to wait long to taste this yumminess.

SUArtisanFacebookOct1new

Here are some close-up pictures of each part of the project. This is the part that made me hungry! I used the Timber Stampin' Around Wheel on Crumb Cake cardstock with Crumb Cake ink for the base of the menu. Then, I printed the menu on Very Vanilla cardstock. I finished it off with leaves die cut and stamped in Cajun Craze, More Mustard and Bravo Burgundy and some Linen Thread.

SUArtisanFacebookOct2new

Here is the place card. I ran the Timber Stampin' Around Wheel on Very Vanilla cardstock, and mounted it to a folded Crumb Cake place card. I finished it off with a Cajun Craze die cut and stamped leaf, and an acorn stamped in Crumb Cake on Crumb Cake with the Champagne Glass Glitter added to the bottom of the acorn. I love the glitter...look how sparkly it is!

SUArtisanFacebookOct3new

And here is the napkin ring. I cut strips of the Orchard Harvest Designer Fabric and Linen fabric, and stitched them together around all four edges. Then, I die cut felt leaves and a Champagne Glimmer Paper acorn with a felt top, which I attached by stitching it with the linen thread. I stitched the leaves and acorn onto the fabric ring with Linen Thread, and then topped it all off with a Brushed Bronze Designer Button tied with the same thread.
