Sending A Happy Hello

Have you seen the Paper Crafts special issue Card Ideas for Paper Crafters? I had a card published in this special issue...my first one! I was so excited when I got the confirmation e-mail. And, what is even better is that my friend Tiffany had a card published in the same issue! We made both cards during one of our crafty weekends. I really love using card and scrapbook sketches and templates. It's one of my favorite ways to start a project. I'm really proud of this card because I pulled out my tape and used it also! I love how it turned out, and wouldn't change a thing about it. Now that is a rare feeling when I create a project. Anyways, thanks for visiting and enjoy the card.

You can't win if you don't play-- rejected card #6

Here is my last rejected card from this batch. I got in touch with my vintage side for this card. Love this paper from Stampin' Up and the dies from Papertrey Ink. I broke out the seam binding, flowers, glittered brad and felt for this one. Love all the fun embellishments these days. And, you can never have too many thank you cards, right? Enjoy, and thanks for visiting.

Still a few more cards to share that were "rejects"! Although "Cherry Pie Day" is a little-known holiday, I think it's a fabulous day to celebrate. I make a mean cherry pie from scratch, and even included my favorite recipe for it on the card! Yummy, yummy...my mouth is watering just thinking about it. And, I love the cherry paper from October Afternoon and the cute cherry stamp from Stampin' Up's Tart and Tangy set. Enjoy, and thanks for stopping by!

I have a few more cards to share in this series of cards that were submitted for Paper Crafts Card A Day but not picked up. Happily I did get two cards that were selected, but I can't share those yet! I hope you enjoy this next card. I like this bird set from Papertrey Ink. So cute with the little tree! The only thing I would change about this card is to use a little less green...maybe it's a little green heavy! Anyway, I really like the saying. What a great mindset to start each day with, right? Enjoy, and thanks for visiting.

You can't win if you don't play-- rejected card #3

Time for another card "reject" from a Paper Crafts call. I have seen lots of other "rejects", and I think we are all in good company! I'd hate to have to be the people choosing among all of the submissions. These were sent for their Card a Day publication, which is one of my favorites! Can't to see it when it comes out next year. This card was inspired by a My Mind's Eye embellishment from the Lost and Found collection. For the background of the card, I repeated a word stamp from the Stampin' Up set Strength and Hope. I have a friend in mind that needs this card, so I'm going to ship it off to her soon. Enjoy, and thanks for visiting!

Today I'm going to share another card that I recently submitted for Paper Crafts Card A Day publication but wasn't picked up. I do really love their last Card A Day book. It's one of my favorite publications. So many beautiful and inspiring cards in so many different styles. I'm really honored that I will have two cards in next year's version. In the meantime, here is my card using a fun set from Papertrey Ink called Studio Style. I also got to use these great vinyl shapes from American Crafts and the matching paper. I'll have to send this to one of my craft friends soon!

You can't win if you don't play-- rejected card #1

So, I have made quite a few cards lately that I submitted for various calls at Paper Crafts magaine. This batch was submitted for their Card a Day publication coming out next year. I did have two cards picked up, so I can't show those yet. But, over the next few days I'll be sharing the 8 that weren't picked up. I'm going to start with my favorite of the batch. I really love this particular line of paper from The Girls Paperie called Kitch. I love the colors and the patterns. I stocked up recently before it was discontinued. :-) And, I really love those wood letters from Pink Paislee / House of 3. Love them misted. You'll probably be seeing more of them from me in the future. I hope you enjoy these cards, and I encourage you to submit your work too! Remember, you can't win if you don't play. ;-)
