Love Those Sketches #4

Here is another card that I submitted for the Go To Sketches Volume 2 that wasn't picked up. I used some Sizzix alphabet and shadow dies that I have had for awhile. I think if I started this card over, I would make the card wider so it would fit into a #10 envelope. The shadow layer of the letters are felt and the top layer is Stampin' Up fabric that was in their Holiday Mini Catalog and matched one of the collections. I believe the fabric is still available to puchase now. The heart has the top layer as felt, and the shadow layer of fabric. I stamped the rest of the sentiment with an SU Mini Alphabet. All the details are below. Enjoy!

Love Those Sketches #3

So, here is another card I submitted for the Go To Sketches Volume 2 publication that wasn't chosen. I had fun with this one. And, I'm giving myself "bonus points" for using the stitching template for the snowflake trails that I have had for some time. I enjoyed how this one turned out. It took awhile to stitch all of the trails and to die-cut the snowflakes from the felt, so I probably won't be making 60 of these to send out at Christmas time. It doesn't fall into the easily reproducible category! But, I hope you enjoy this card.

Love Those Sketches #2

Here is another card that I submitted for the Go To Sketches Volume 2 call a couple weeks ago. I really like how this one turned out. At the time I was making these, there were also challenges on the Moxie Fab World blog for shimmer sprays, tape, paper piecing and marker techniques. This was great because I had a few shimmer sprays, and I really hadn't played around with them. So, after making two cards for that challenge, I kept thinking of different ways to use them on other projects like this card. I have seen people add the sprays to colored cardstock instead of a light neutral, and I thought it would be cool to color some Crumb Cake cardstock as the background for this card. This card was for Sketch #71. I hope you enjoy it!

Love Those Sketches #1

I submitted a few cards for the Go To Sketches Volume 2 call at Paper Crafts. I had one of my cards selected for the publication. Yeah! But, there were several that were not picked. So, I'm going to share them here this week. This card was for sketch #70. I think it needs something else. I'm thinking maybe ribbon across the top of the label? I might have to adjust it before I send it out. I added the chain to the birdcage with a marker so I could dangle it from the top of the card. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the project too!

In My Beautiful Balloon Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

Wow...so this challenge thing is getting to be addicting! There are a whole mess of challenges over at the Moxie Fab World Blog, and I got an idea for this Beautiful Balloon challenge. I've been working a lot on some submissions that are coming up, but I took a break to make this card. I just couldn't wait to turn this idea into a card. It was inspired by Maile Belles beautiful card that was online extra for Paper Crafts. I loved the buttons under a die-cut layer, so I used buttons, ribbon and tape under the die-cut balloons layer. I used die-cuts to make the felt clouds. Then, I thought it still needed something, so I used a wood-grain impression plate to give the blue paper some texture and mimic wind. Some inking of the edges for more definition and a greeting, and it was ready to go. I really like how this turned out. You know how sometimes you finish a project and like it just the way it is? I think this is one of those...so fun. I hope you enjoy it too!
