This Old Photo Class and Results

For the past week and a half I have been taking a class called This Old Photo over from Jessica Sprague. I have the privilege of having many photographs from both my mother's and father's side of the family. Some of them have things written in pen over the photo, and others have just faded and/or shifted in color over time. This class really shows you some doable techniques for editing your photos and getting back much of their former glory. I highly recommend this class if you have the same treasure of photos, and want to repair them. Here are a few examples that I have edited during the class. Enjoy!

P.S. The first photo is my parents during their dating days. The second photo has my Grandma Gunn as a little girl (she is second from the right in the picture).

Seaside Cards #4

So, here are the last two cards in my simple, watercolor series of cards. I'd like to get out the other 4 stamps from these 3 sets that I haven't used yet, and make some cards with them as well. It's so much fun to get out favorite, older sets and get creative with them again. It's good to use what you have! I even managed to use some eyelets on some of the cards. At the bottom of the post is the index card with the templates that I used. I hope you enjoy seeing everything!

Seaside Cards #3

So, here are another 2 cards in my simple, watercolor series. I have already shown the 4 different templates that I used to make these cards. So, I have repeated those in the next 4 cards, but using different images and greetings. To select the templates, I looked through a few of my idea books and just drew a few out on index cards to try them out. When I post the next two cards, I'll add in the index card of the templates to show as well. I hope you enjoy them!

Seaside Cards #2

Here are another 2 cards using my retired Stampin' Up sketches sets. I made a whole set of 8 to give away at an auction. I like them so much, I think I'll make another set or two. All I need is some more watercolor cards. Maybe I'll make my own this time using watercolor paper. Do you have any favorite sets that you haven't used in awhile? Here's my challenge to you to get them out, and see what you can created. I really tried to keep these simple, take more time on the watercoloring and leave that as the focus. What is your favorite way to make a simple card that still catches the eye?

Seaside Cards #1

I spent some time last month making cards for an upcoming auction for a non-profit group. I love these retired Stampin' Up Sea sets, but I haven't used them in a while. I wanted to play with watercolor, and also to keep the cards simple as far as layers and embellishments. I really like how they turned out. I'm planning to make a couple of sets to sell, and may even put some out on my Etsy shop as well. It's pretty lonely there right now! Anyway, I hope you enjoy these cards and are inspired to get out a favorite stamp set that you haven't used in a while and play.

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger 1

So, I follow the Moxie Fab World blog which has some great posts on both new papercrafting products as well as fun contests and challenges. Their most recent Tuesday Trigger post featured the picture below of multiple shades of red lipstick. The minute I saw this picture, I thought of a field of flowers all standing in rows in lots of shades. There are tulip fields near Seattle that I have seen, and that was what I pictured as I worked on my projects. I hope you enjoy them! I had some new Unity flower stamps designed by Donna Downey that needed some love, and the other set from Stampin' Up is well loved already. Details of these cards can be seen below. Enjoy!
